The Slimer Build Thread

On a funnier note, this is what happens when your son INSISTS on playing in the sandbox, even though its cold outside. He equates sunshine with warmth. So after much crying and fussing, I let him go play in the sandbox. This is 30 seconds later...

Now he's happily playing inside again.

So with the PowerPlant HD on the front of the rig, do I need to replace my battery, or will the stock one hold up for a while?

How many times do you plan on getting stuck? :)
Haha
Seriously I bet most winches are on factory batteries.
How many more amps does your HD draw vs the normal powerplant?

Everyday! All the damn salt up here has seized up my entire undercarriage, so I need to winch myself to work in 125' segments... Haha. The Currie Johnny joints on the carrier have rusted... Any way to coat those to prevent corrosion?

Sorry screwed up my post. I meant how much more amps does your HD draw...

I have no idea. I will ask Warn. Need to call them today. I need a manual in English. The one I have is in Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, and Italian, but no English... Haha. Also need the two air tools and want new mounting hardware.

cant wait to see the powerplant mounted up, how much does it weigh in at?

Heavy. Haha. With the cold outside, my carrier has become extremely hard to use, so I attempted to get it out of the jeep through the back seat. Almost gave myself a hernia... The Warn site says 100lbs. I wouldn't doubt it.

It needs adjusted then 👍

Haha, yes it does. The fitment is due to the slight imperfections in my install... These slight imperfections add up, especially when the tolerances are so small! Haha, but there is absolutely no rattle! Once it warms up, I plan on tackling it again. I spent maybe an hour and a half trying to get the fitment right on initial install, but I was so anxious to get done that as soon as it was functional I called it done! Plus, it was slow going because I was doing it by myself and that sucker is heavy.

Or lubed. Have you lubed the zerk fittings?

It moves just fine, the pin holes just don't line up the best. So there is much yanking to get the second pin in, especially when it is cold and the material is even less ductile.

Here is the link for the english manual for you.

Thanks! I will use that until I get the copy from Warn. They are sending one out free of charge! I appreciate the help though. I am just too anal to keep 8"x11" printer paper manuals in my glovebox. Haha, admitting you have a problem is the first step...
But this copy will live in my garage with the well-used stack of install manuals from manufacturers and Project JK.

Thanks for the support Biggy! Hope to keep things interesting on this thread as much as possible! Already wishing I could put the soft top back on. Sick of winter. Let me know if you need any help or pointers with that carrier, it can be a rough install.
