The Slimer Build Thread

So I have hardly any experience, just learning from what I've read on the forum. I went with the Warn Zeon 10-s, Powertank 10lb., and Viair compressor as a backup for the Powertank. The combo ended up to be the same price as a Warn Powerplant after you changed to synthetic rope.

Not sure how the combo will work out, so we'll see :)

Would there be any issues with the 12k? Def worth $1100?

Im with you on saving $400 is saving 400! A nearly new 12k powerplant for 1100 is a pretty good deal. I got a used 9.5ti for 600 but it doesn't have air obviously. New or used a warn is a reliable beast! I still have one thats 20+ years old on my fathers car trailer and its still chuggin along. So I decided to go with used and the last decision was go big and spend on powerplant or save for onboard air that I'll be getting for ARB's later anyway. Stick to your plan, plan backwards and get what best suits your envisioned build. Im loving watching slimer grow!

Thanks everyone for your help and advice. Are there any mods I will need due to the Warn PowerPlant HD? Someone mentioned a new battery. Wayalife posted a while ago about a good battery for the 2012/2013 JKs. Anyone happen to remember or have any other battery or winch advice?

Boom shakalaka! Got my PowerPlant today! Picked it up off a guy in St. Louis. Drove over 6 hours roundup after work to pick it up through horrendous wind the entire way. My hood was bouncing to the point of catching on the hood latch... And it was between 10-20 F the entire drive, so the rubber hood straps were as inelastic as possible... I've never seen anything like it. Anyways, got a Warn PowerPlant HD (12k model) mounted for 3 months but never used, in essentially new condition for (drumroll please...)
$1000!!!!
It's still in the back of the jeep, as it is 10F and dropping outside and don't feel like battling the EVO carrier... I will try and post pics tomorrow!

Dude you will leave me in the dust. You have better suspension, transfer case, and motor.

But it will be great to get out.

Meh, dust schmust. With your better access to wheeling venues, I'm sure your driving abilities exceed mine. Not saying I'm bad, just saying I am always open to learning more, from more experienced people. That's the main reason I am applying to JKX, to learn from the best! Haha, and also have a blast!

Remember. You can always put enough clothing on to be warm. But you can never remove enough to be cool in 115 deg sun.

Haha, that's what I used to say, but it's real hard to thread a nut onto a bolt when you're wrapped up like the younger brother on A Christmas Story.

Gob danmit! Not to pry into your personal business but what do you do for a living? You must not have any type of debt to be shelling out money like this on a 2013 JKU Rubicon! Hell I have 2012 JKU Rubi and make 92k a year as a diesel mechanic and I'm still just making a list for my jeep lol!

Nice build tho! Very jealous of the color! Wanted my jeep to match my box. Oh well!
