The Adventures of Fiona - '08 JK Rubicon 2-Door

Ordered a Dometic CFX-35W fridge with a slide, transit bag, and WiFi monitoring system. After measuring things a hundred times, I *think* I can get away with this one fitting under my tonneau cover. I really wanted to get a bigger unit, but I didn't want to sacrifice the cover... From everything I can tell, it should be large enough for my use. Two for 2 people for 2-3 days should be doable since you take the space taken up by ice. I guess we'll see soon enough.

I also ordered two ARB fridge harnesses since they apparently work with the Dometic as well. I plan on moving it between the Jeep and my work van so hopefully this will work out well.

One thing that pisses me off, though, is after I did the Seafoam deep soak at 100k she started burning oil. Guess the carbon buildup was keeping the oil in. 🤣

I bumped up to 5W30 this last oil change and it appears to have cut it down by half, so I may go to 10W30 on the next change to see if it gets better.

Had a little time this afternoon so I finally installed the Yaesu FT-8900R I picked up from Clearskies a couple months back.

I just threw the external speaker under the seat for now, but the plan is to install it along with another for the CB on the sound bar.

I noticed Don was running a Ham radio too when we were at Miller.... what is the benefit vs the CB? Better to get help if far out? Or just clearer when on the trail?
 
Installed an ARB outlet in the rear driver's side to power the new fridge.

Not the largest, but strategically packed, it should be able to support a couple people for 2-3 days. I still need to decide how I want to mount the slide in the back of the Jeep. I need to make it easy to remove for when I need the space for whatever.

Nice! Gotta get my Harness installed too... (Haven’t bought the Fridge yet)

Did you get a 30 or 50qt? Does it fit under that rear cover you have with the slides?
