Thought I read where Revolution gears and axles were made in USA
Pretty sure I've read that all gears are made in Korea? Think they all do their own heat treatments though. Think Coz runs Revolution gears - he'd be able to chime in...

I think that may have changed.
Revolution does make some of their "axles" in the U.S.A. The ones that are specifically state as much. Pretty much every "gear" out there made is made by Cha which is in South Korea. Revolution has gears made in South Korea as well but to their own specs. Depending on who you talk to, they are the best gear you can get and require little to no shims to get them to setup like stock.
Don't mean to hijack the Pet Peeves thread (probably a post someone has already made here BTW) but what is it about the metallurgy/process of producing gears that no one makes them here? I mean, its not like we don't have high quality forges/foundries. Sounds like a good homework assignment unless someone already has the answer...
Edit: So just for shits & giggles I googled "USA Ring & Pinion manufacturers" and several companies came up. I sent a couple of them emails thru the contact us button and will see if they answer. Could it possible be that the Korean companies are the only ones that make the D44 ring gears? IDK. I'll report back & start a new threat if they actually answer.

This is just a huge assumption but if USA companies can spec the metal and how they want their gears made the difference has to be in the cost of human labor to complete the job.
US gear makes R&P sets here so its not like no one does. Also, the process of cutting the gears is done on automatic equipment so there really isn't much manual labor involved. One of the bigger companies that makes the equipment that cuts the gears from the castings/forgings sells machinery to them (US Gear) as well as a couple Korean companies I looked up. Since none of the standard gear sets and other parts from other D44 designs are compatible with the JK D44 housing, it could be a volume thing?
This is probably more information than anyone really gives a damn about but now that I started looking this shit up I might as well see it through...

What the hell is up with that guy. I need to start a GoFundMe page for a ProRock 44 & lockers [emoji13]
I must have missed that thread. Who decided that would be a good idea?
People who run over geese and do not give a crap.
Really? People do this? I have never heard of people not stopping for geese.
A guy at my job did this today, right in front of me. When I confronted him basically it wasn't his fault, and was more concerned about punching in.
