Your jeep comes with good skid plates that do their job well. There is no need to buy replacements for them. If anything, a skid for your oil pan is about all you need for a manual and some thing for your tranny if you have a 12-up. Trust me, that's all we've been running on our rigs for the last 7 years.
According to my dealership's parts department, my Rubi never had any skid plates nor does any Wrangler on their lot! :cheesy: But that's a story for another time.
There was absolutely nothing in front of my crossmember (other than my eDisco skid, ORFAB) before I put this skid plate on. Sure it might be a little over kill but I like it! Besides, I'm riding a bit lower than many of the trail rigs around so I find myself catching more rocks. This is pretty obvious when you look at my crossmember & down pipes. No idea how I caught my down pipes on rocks, but they are now well covered along with my oil pan and everything in front of the crossmember.
Kenny, the skid I just did wasn't crazy expensive considering everything it covers. It's along the same size/price point as the Protek system.Hmmm I have an auto 2013 so probably just a oil pan and trans skid?
