Hinrichs 2.0

So my jeep is still in the shop....waiting....cant even remember when I dropped it off

I literally just went through the same thing, mine sat with the dealership for 3 weeks just about. and they surprisingly hooked it up by cutting my labor charge from about 1600 to about 400

I don't get these shops. That should have been a one day job. Probably because it's warranty work...

Yeah its not top on his to-do list it seems, plus he has been waiting to free up a lift.

I dont really care, but its starting to get kinda chilly riding the bike to work in the morning.

What's going on that you had to take it in?

Well its been making a weird noise for quite some time, but never really thought much about it till it was getting really annoying to drive around. Kind of a squeal like my 2 door was doing which happened to be a boost dust shield on my rear shaft that would get a little loose and go crazy. I poked around once and didn't think much about it till it started to get a little worse. I of course waited too long to do anything and thats why I missed the last trip. I pulled the cover to check the rear and it sounded terrible spinning the tires like something was grinding so I am 95% sure the pinion bearing went somehow.

Interesting.

I've got a similar squeal type sound...usually around 25 mph while accelerating.

Let me know what they come back with.

Built my new garage toy over the weekend and got it setup, should come in handy to clean up a few parts on the jeep. Plan to pull the front knuckle once I get it back that I never painted before I installed it.

Then went out on a slight adventure on the bike

Now that is a bad ass toy.

So jeep update, well kinda

Just got a text from the shop, pulled the rear apart, bearing are fine but will be replaced. He said my locker is making a ratcheting sound....so not sure what to do.

Starting to price up the locker.....guess I will be moving my compressor as well to under the hood since I dont really have any more room to run wires through that side hole anymore and that would make a lot of things much easier....but then I have to replace the spod

Kinda hate my jeep right now

Was it the factory locker that failed? Or did you have some other electric one? And any chance of warranty?

Factory. I would try to do a warranty replacement....but when I had it at the dealer when we couldnt figure out the front being locked at 250 miles....they wouldnt even touch the jeep.....so yeah guess im kinda screwed with that.

Find another dealer! Warranty is warranty. That's a hell of an expense to pay it yourself if its not necessary

I dont see any that would cover it tho, 37s....the lift....different gears...all those things cant help my cause at all....plus the time frame thing. Dont really have time before the next trip to be driving all over the place trying to find someone who may fix it.

Yeah, if you're trying to get it done in a certain time frame I understand. Still shitty though.
