Hinrichs 2.0

So I have been dealing with a leak for a while now, and today was the worst it has been yet. Should have taken a picture, but the front of the seat, door, under floor mat, and floor mat (holding a lot of water) were soaked on the passenger side. Usually its only a little on the floor mat but it was bad today.

Usually I cant even tell where the water comes from, since its only ever on the mat. Thinking maybe its coming from behind the dash or something, or maybe the door does not seal correctly at all on the upper end.

anyone deal with anything like this?

Mine leaks real bad on the upper part of the door and the hardtop. I have the same issues with water filling up on my floor too. Leaks up top and runs down along the inside of the door then onto the floor. Taken it to the dealership a number of times but they can't figure out how to stop it either. I just bring a rag now to wipe everything down when it's rained on...

I had the same thing happen with mine after a hard rain once. The passenger foot well was sopping wet. I printed that same manual out but the weird thing is that it never happened again. I wonder if one of the Freedom panels weren't locked down properly in my case. IDK. Sad thing is, even Jeep can't make a one seal fits all with these removable tops. They will apply goopy strips of black butyl rubber hoping it conforms to the suspected leak area & we'll go away...

That sucks. Those things are hard to find. Sometimes it's best to get in there with a flashlight and have a helper spray a garden hose on one area at a time. Good luck.

I had a similar problem and used this fix in this video. I will say that the front of my seats weren't wet, there was just a collection of water on the front floor mats.

When it stops leaking, that's when you need to worry !

I usually dont really mind the leaks, but its been getting worse which is weird as I dont even really drive my jeep much anymore.

The main issue with my hard top, was that it would leak in the center of the 2 freedom panels and water was laying in my sPod switch panel which had me worried something bad would happen with the whole water and electricity thing. Plus taking a turn into a driveway or incline would soak me when it decided to dump out.

Soon I will have to try that.

Man, I just re-reading the whole thread. :thumb:

Busy day at work today :yup:

Sorry it wasnt more interesting lately lol.

I will have to watch that and see what I can learn. This was the first time for the seat being wet, but the storm we had last night makes sense...kinda.

(EDIT) Watched that video, that does make sense and I think I will give that a go this week after I investigate the issue a little more than I did this morning.

I have the same problem as the guy on that video had. I'm gonna go to the store later on today and see if I can find that stripping. Thanks for posting.
