You'll probably be getting some adult deer footage in a couple of months. As you just saw, the buck that's adopted our pasture as his home is still making a camera appearance every evening but I thought it'd be nice to share the doe or two that come through as well but typically in the mornings.
So cool. So, on our last visit to Tin Camp, I downloaded our game camera chip and just now started going through it. And, much to my surprise, there were a lot of clips that I apparently missed including these that show a fawn following its mom into the pasture.
Here's another clip of the fawn and its mom back in the pasture about 2 weeks later.
It’s so cool the camera position. It’s like they know to walk left to right and in the center of the shot. So, on our last visit to Tin Camp, I downloaded our game camera chip and just now started going through it. Just before SEMA, Cindy and I got a chance to spend a few days out at the new camp and I have to say, it was surprisingly nice not having any internet or cell service. Here are a few pics from our stay.
Being that the A-Frame cabin is the the most modern and well kept, we decided to make it home.
While the cabins are wired up for electricity, there something going on at the fuse box or breaker box and we weren't able to quite figure out on this trip and so, we didn't have any or at least, not in this cabin. However, the place is plumbed with propane lights and that's what you're seeing it lighted up with here.
Of course, the stove runs off of propane as well and so that's what we used to cook over very first meal.
Yes, it's just ramen but what are ya gonna do when you come in late LOL
CHEERS to our new place!
I did have enough time to setup our new bed though and it made for a very nice sleep
View from the balcony the next morning and looking to the north.
View looking down the roof to the south.
Shot across the meadow looking toward Pilot Knob Ridge.
Taking a walk and looking toward the east.
A couple shots of the pond.
View looking to the north and across the camp.
The following evening, we decided to have a campfire, just because we could and it was so nice out.
CHEERS!
Unfortunately, winter was coming and so the main purpose for this trip was to spend a little time here before we couldn't and more importantly, to winterize it. Of course, that was a real bummer being that the weather was still so nice but with all that we had going on with SEMA, Thanksgiving and Christmas, this was the only real chance we had to do it.
LOL - yeah, that sounds about rightReally beautiful country and enough projects to keep you busy for the next 30 years!
Congratulations! This looks like an amazing spot…epic views and off the grid! My kinda place!Few other shots of things on the property.
Because of its remoteness, the original owner (the dad) had to be resourceful and built a lot of the original stuff out of recycled materials, including what he called, the Fire Hall. Not sure what this old iron riveted thing was but it is now the generator shed and main breaker.
This is one of the numerous sheds on the property. Unfortunately, the tractor will not be staying.
But, on this inside is this little Craftsman riding mower, that works and it will be staying.
This is a stable that sits next to the lean-to of the shed.
Here's a shot of the railroad tie garage and container.
Inside the railroad tie garage is this bad boy and not only does it work, we get to keep it.
It's super old school but it does have a loader and a PTO.
This container is most likely where we will store solar batteries.
This is the pond that's fed by an artesian well.
Next to the pond is this covered picnic table and fire pit.
View from the back gate and wide open wilderness beyond.
Here are a few ariel shots of the property.
Anyway, just thought I'd share with you guys what we've been up to. If you ever have the time and are interested in seeing what real cowboy country is like, we'd love to have you visit with us here. Tons to do, tons to explore and I think you'd like it
Looking at that beast never gets old. LolLOL - so, I still get tons of clips of deer grazing in the pasture but figured, it'd get old to keep on posting them. However, I just got this one and it had me rolling when I saw a rabbit pop out it's rear end
You've had that camera out there awhile now. Have you had to mess with batteries at all?And just like that, the velvet is gone.

Although, it does look like he's left the scene of a murder LOL
