Damn that sucks, I will say it's time to get the toughest out there with all your past tcase issues. Besides I'm sure money is growing on trees over on PA these days..[emoji2962]

On the bright side, better to find it now than in Nebraska

What the hell? Any idea why?

Yeah, I guess now is the time to find that when everything is off & on a lift. Bad thing is those Atlas builds are 5 weeks out :naw:
I have no idea why I'm cursed with these damn things. Since this one was put in both DS's were rebuilt with all new joints and balanced. The front caster was
verified numerous times. IDK what else could be causing this.

If anyone has any ideas I'm all ears.

I wish you could get the 3 speed Atlas, but I guess it will only work in the older JKs with the 3.8

It's a shame, as I think I know a solution to the reason they say they won't work.

Actually two solutions, one being your cut off switch.

I love the 4.7 low in the rocks, but sometimes, like mud, sand, or snow, the standard low range would be better.

It would be nice to have both.

Speak for yourself. Seats and suspension are the only things on my list until something breaks!

Damn Jerry, that is freaking unbelievable! Was that a new one when you put it in? I was just wandering if the damage could have been already done, if it was used. Just grasping at straws. Really sorry for your luck, but at least you found it early and no fires.

Thanks Jeff. Yeah, no fires is good! IDK, this was a takeoff so I guess it could have come like that. I really didn't put a lot of miles on this case either.
All I do know is I am done with takeoffs - this isn't gonna happen again.

Well, be prepared to be disappointed buddy. By the time everything is added up, an Atlas install is gonna be at least $5k. That's the shift cables, parts, pieces, shortening both driveshafts, etc, etc. Atlas's are certainly badass but $5 ain't nothing to sneeze at. I found a really low mileage unit (I know, I know) so I'm rolling the dice. The crack in the case is so small and in such an odd place that I can't imagine what caused it. It looks to be in a non-stressed area. So, once I get it pulled I'm gonna rebuild that one so I'll have a backup. The front cover is $350 and they actually look fairly simple inside so I'm gonna give that a go. :idontknow:
