The build of Big Red (Knuckles)

Sweet! Can you post pics up when you rebuild one? I'm curious what the guts look like. I was gonna take one of mine apart when I flipped them around the other day but didn't want to jack one up without a spare

Wow, I'm surprised that you have a blown Johnny Joint. I'm literally still running on my original set and I check them on a regular basis and that includes taking them apart to do a physical inspection. That being said, do you happen to know if the kits were the same in terms of what all they come with?

Yea the axle side joints on mine were blown. Figured mine as well do both side of the ends while they are apart.

Them blowing is my fault and my fault only. Slacked a few times on greasing them. Also in February I hit a deer and I’m sure that played a huge part in the driver side joint going.

The rebuild kit has new bushings, washers, and snap rings. After talking with Currie they said I don’t need to rebalance the ball so I should be good there.

Love this build! some good inspiration on where I am going with mine. Maybe I can plan a run up to RC and meet up with some of the great people on this Forum!
