Shark "Tank"

Sharkey, do you remember off hand what length those black blots were? im ordering up the things i need for the install, and haven't received the skins yet to measure the bolts.

Yes, they are 3/4".

You need 38 (plus maybe a couple extras for good measure). MTG did his rocker and corner skins too, so that is why we ordered 110. They come individually, in packs of 50, 100, 250, and I think 1000.

So, unfortunately, my Yeti 400 crapped out on me on Friday night while on my way to a weekend camping trip. Fortunately, my OEM battery with a 12 gauge wire run directly to the battery was able to run the fridge constantly. We drove enough each day that I never had any problems starting my Jeep.

This week I will do two things: (1) find out how good Goal Zero's customer service is; and, (2) get an Odyssey 34R PC1500T as a new power source for the Shark Tank.

Well, it took a little time (the delay was on my end, not Goal Zero's) to get my Yeti sent back. Goal Zero shipped me a brand new unit (no questions asked or hoops to jump through) and it arrived within about five days from they day I sent my broken one back to them. That's pretty damn good customer service in my book. Hopefully it was a fluke and this this new unit is problem free. Regardless though, Goal Zero stood by its product.:thumb:

That is good service. Glad to hear.

C clamp? Specific reason or just to have?

Never really though about having one in the jeep. But, can easily transfer one from the tool box to the trail bag.

Wow that is so cool! Man you have a lot of cool mods on your jeep sharkey! I'm really thinking about building me a cargo deck like yours it came out amazing great job!

Thank you. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to make any really large purchases (lift, wheels, tires) yet. But that doesn't mean I can't make my Jeep my own. I really enjoy trying to come up with different useful things to do that don't cost a bunch of money.

Time to take care of some little things. On my '09 I installed climbing bolt anchors in the rear sport cage. For whatever reason, JKU's come with a nut embedded in the sport bar on each side. (If any of you know why, I'd love to hear the answer).

Anyway, here they are. Great as a hammock attachment point and also to hang bags vertically in the back.

Going way back here...

I'm planning a multi-day trip for me and a buddy. Thinking of hammock camping the whole thing. With two of these installed, all we need is one tree and we can mount both hammocks.

I looked at the nut in the roll cage. Any concerns with it holding 200lbs for 8 hours at a time night after night? Ideally I'd love to have more than just one nut supporting me. If that breaks in the middle of night, that's a rough fall down.

Tough to tell. I would think you would be fine but the easy thing to do is to take a piece of strong tube webbing and wrap it around the cage as a secondary safety.
