Shark "Tank"

So, unfortunately, my Yeti 400 crapped out on me on Friday night while on my way to a weekend camping trip. Fortunately, my OEM battery with a 12 gauge wire run directly to the battery was able to run the fridge constantly. We drove enough each day that I never had any problems starting my Jeep.

This week I will do two things: (1) find out how good Goal Zero's customer service is; and, (2) get an Odyssey 34R PC1500T as a new power source for the Shark Tank.

Did you ever consider a dual AGM battery setup with an isolator to prevent starting battery rundown?

Yes. I installed the Genesis system in a friend's Jeep. It's a great setup but it does come at a premium. Interestingly, he left his Jeep at his duck club for a couple of months and both batteries drained dead. All we can figure is the indicator lights on his Cole smart charger and on the aftermarket USB ports I installed slowly drained two diehard platinum batteries. There was no other active drain on the battery.

One of my buddies had the same thing happen with this set up. Weird.

That's odd...I have dual battery setups on two rigs that sit for a month or two all the time without problem. I put a blue top Optima as the aux battery in the Brute...it's a true marine deep cycle, and will run my 50 qt arb fridge 4 days without needing to start the engine...and it's never drained the starting battery

Forgot how much fun these things are. Driver's side done, passenger side will have to wait for a few days.

I think the black bolts look good.
