KOH 2013 Video and Picture Thread

As was I. That is half the fun about this forum! We all can crack some funny jokes!

Yeah, most people have thick skin and we can all have a little fun. Unfortunately, I sometimes get myself in trouble. :grayno:

And uh, this was meant as a joke.

:cheesy:

BTW--Jags was there. I saw him. :thumb:

So if you broke down out on the course, you either fixed it or DNF? That makes it very interesting. Way better then just sticking a driver in a rig and somebody else fixing it while he eats a cheeseburger.

Yeah, any outside assistance DQ the team. However, they could help from other teams. Interesting indeed. :thumb:

You have to do it yourself. If you noticed in a few of the pictures at sand hill there was a TJ at the top. They used that as a winch point since there wasn't anything around but you have to do all the recovery and repairs yourself out on the trail. There are no chase trucks allowed like in other races.

I noticed that I wasn't sure who was winching who. thanks

I know you were just BS'n. Well, most of us crack funny jokes. That MTG guy, he's not funny at all though.

Yep, like MTG Said, you could only get assistance in the pits. We saw teams sledge hammering bent DSs and control arms against rocks and working on engines for 30-60-90 minutes at a time with just the driver and co-driver. Though these guys are more than just "drivers" in this race for sure. They needed to know their stuff.

Every time the KOH comes around I have something come up :grayno: i was looking forward to hanging with the Wayalife crew and getting to know everybody. At least overland's photographs are at least making me feel like i was at the races!!!

All you guys are spot on, also if a driver or co-driver could make it to their pits on foot and back to the race car (like a co-driver did last year for a driveshaft, ran about a mile one direction) you could provide support that way too. Also, race teams can help race teams on the course too. At sand hill after we broke in the EVO TJ, I helped pushed start a yellow Toyota four runner to get them going again. Once we (Mel and I) decided to accept outside help because we were out, LoPo tried to gives a jump start (thanks again brother!), the officially standing next to us called in our DIsqualified/DNF time to race main.

Wait. You mean you/Mel could have walked back to pit 1 and grabbed a new alternator/battery and walked back and continued the race........... slackers! :cheesy::cheesy:

:cheesy::cheesy::doh:

LOL that's funny even though I have no idea how far it was back to the pits, but honestly GCM2 IS the Overlander right?! Sounds like the perfect job for him.

Straight line distance over the mountain, not that far. The route we got towed back to camp, pretty darn far....Both more than I care to walk wearing a nomex one piece race suit!

I can imagine it would not be a fun walk with the suit, rocks, sand, traffic etc. regardless of distance.

You guys looked like you still had a blast! :thumb:

Will the TJ be racing in any other races coming up?
