KOH 2013 Video and Picture Thread

First, it was awesome to meet you too and I am truly happy that eBay1 is owned by someone deserving of it. Second, your photos are great! Thanks for sharing them with all of us. Looking forward to the next meet up

Greg

Thanks Greg! See you on the trails.

Not my video... But awesome nonetheless... Randy Slawson the eventual KOH2013 winner driving OVER a competitor and pissing them off in the process.

LOL! I love that the guy who got run over threw a rock at him!!

:cheesy:

x2, I have to agree! Please keep them coming, I was too busy to get out and snap any shots :naw: thanks for sharing what you have!

Slacker!! You were only working the pit when you weren't co-driving TJ 1 during the EMC :rolleyes2: ;) :D

Speaking of Greg slacking,

These couldn't be any happier even with the troubles they had during the first part of the race. Smilies from ear to ear.

Yep, we were having a great time, and bringing the race car into what was the most professional pits at KOH was pretty damn cool! Thanks guys

That it was. I think you said to me, "Man that is one of the most fun things I have done" or something to that effect. I already can't wait until next year!

In case others haven't seen these,

Coming into Sand Hill,

Before going up Sand Hill they pulled the winch line,

Lined up to take the lower route,

Then saw an opening at the higher side of sand hill and decided to take that,

Here goes nothing!

Flexing it out,

And where some rigs were getting hung up Mel cruised through it and got to the top,

Here's my ~10 min video of Sand Hill.. Watching this makes you appreciate how easily Mel made it look. Gets exciting around the 4 min mark.

Again sorry for the portrait recording.

That was cool! Thanks for posting!

Interesting. Don't really see the need for coilovers seeing how the winner of EMC 2 years running has standard coils and shocks.

Isn't that TJ stock class? Why coilovers if its a stock class build?

As mentioned, they are not coil overs. The coils and shocks are attached to the frame separately.

There not coilovers. But the are. Pushing the legal limits. 

Not true at all. Mel got confirmation from Dave Cole that they would be okay to use as they still follow the guidelines of the coils and shocks being mounted to the frame separately. Coil overs would have the coils attached to the shocks and that would give you an advantage.

You don't really see the need for them because you clearly have never run a set. Still, it's your rig and if the winner of EMC for 2 years running is the only way you guage what you should or shouldn't run, more power to you. :)

BA pictures makes me wish I had toughened up a bit and came to the KOH sick but wouldnt want anyone else getting sick...:naw:

I've ridden in coilovered rigs and they ride nice. For me tuned Fox resis are good enough.

The Savvy LJ hauls some serious ass. I don't think coilovers would make it any faster. Hell, last year he was the first to finish running stock class beating all the big boys in mod class. Why wouldn't what the winner of EMC runs gauge what I should run? I know a lot of people here run EVO stuff because Mel runs it at the hammers, It's the same thing. I know the products that Savvy puts out as I run them myself and they are the best in the industry for the TJ.
