Jdofmemi and the yet unnamed Jeep rebuild

How do you like the ride on those rear springs? Nice flex - I was really happy with them.
I'm liking them so far. A little stiffer, but that's what I needed to not be crashing hard on the bumpstops all the time.

I'm limited right now with the Rancho shocks, not much droop, but I'm hopeful that I can get my Kings back in time for Moab.
It flex’s right up there! Almost trail ready!

No pic on the front, as I wasn't disconnected, but it is doing good. Hopefully I get the 4" plushrides from Bubba today and I can sort out the front as well. Looks like I can get away with about 2" of bumpstop there.

Got my 4" plushrides in, Synergy bumpstops, and man, what a difference. I wish I would have done that years ago.

I can now hit a bump at speed without crashing into the bumpstops, and the ride is great.

Went over to a ditch down the street and flexed it out. So far, things are working perfectly 👌

Looks good Jerry. Bet you’re dying to hit the trails and see how she performs now that you’ve tied up all the loose ends.

That's for sure!

Looking good man...

Thanks Ed!

The stance is perfect. Glad you got the Evos in.

Thanks Alan. It's sitting nice now.

Hopefully I can get my rear Kings back before the Moab trip. That will get me a few inches more droop in the rear, not to mention the better performance.

Now it's just little things and packing everything back up.

The garage looks like a tornado hit, and most of it needs to go back in the Jeep

Couldn't take the heat in the garage, so I headed for the hills yesterday for an impromptu test run.

I was able to convince James (Baddestcross) to come join me for a night run through Dishpan and Holcomb Creek.

It was over 20 degrees cooler on the mountain, but getting there I had to blast the heater to keep the Jeep from heating to the point it derates the power. Once I made it to the top, life was better.

I did a quick run solo down to Deep Creek while waiting for James to arrive.
I am amazed at how much better I can handle the bumps now with the 4" plushrides in front, and the 4+1 Curries from Ddays in the rear. That, coupled with the new axles gives me the confidence to really push harder on the trail without fear of damage.

After getting back from that and topping off the gas, met James and his wife, then off to the trail. The normal road to the trail is closed, so I know a much longer way around, but it was perfect. Got to the first obstacle at dusk, then did the whole trail in the dark.

With the new, higher stance, I'm clearing things that used to hang me up, and even though it is taller, it is also wider, plus the axles are heavier, so off camber feels just as stable as before, once I got used to it.

I was able to spot James up some of the trickier obstacles he has been on, and Fiona made it without any problems. I'm pretty sure he thought I was crazy for some of the angles we took, but we made it anyway.

Off the trail and aired up sometime after one am, made for a fun night, and a great way to beat the heat.

Such a great experience building these things up and then putting them to the test on the trail! Glad to hear everything worked as hoped!

Looked like a great time...by the way "fear of damage" can be a good thing, especially in the dark...
