Jdofmemi and the yet unnamed Jeep rebuild

That looks perfect there. That company would be smart to offer that as an optional mount.

The tabs you can see in the big opening are on both sides, and they suggest that as mounting for accessories such as air compressors and other items.

I was just able to squeeze it in the center because of how high I raised the tire mount to clear my table. Where it was before, there was no chance it would have fit in there.

Of course, I'm already using the recommended space to hold my Pull Pal, and my spare fluids and such stick up in there as well.

The Pull Pal is a PITA to get in and out, but at least it is now secure, not rattling, and along for the trip. You guys with trees everywhere do t know what it's like to be stuck without a tree, bush, or even a rock bigger than a pebble for as far as you can see. If I'm ever there again, I won't complain about how hard it is to get to, but will be thankful that I have it.

Almost there!

A little bit closer all the time. The big work is mostly done, but lots of little things left.

Oh, the next likely battle is the evap skid. It looks like the driveshaft won't clear it. Hard to say for sure, but it looks like the pinion is shifted left just enough to cause a problem.

After that, it looks like my Rock Hard skid plate is not going to clear the front diff. I may have to get creative with both of those issues.

Yeah, the cutting never ends getting everything to clear

What skids do you have, both front and EVAP?

What did you have to do to get them to clear? I'm just trying to figure out what I need to plan for next.

I do not run an Evap skid, yet. Probably should though

Rubicon express up front. I put them on before find my way here. But they have held up ok. The trans skids pretty twisted now though

I have Fishbone evap skid and it clears. Hopefully you can just trim the Rockhard one. The oil pan skid was a PITA. I ended up re drilling the holes in the skid where it bolts to the cross member to move the whole thing about an inch to the passenger side. Then cut off some of the front of the skid plate just past the driver front mounting bracket bolt. Then tweaked the brackets to push the front of the skid plate over and then ground the webbing off of the pinion area to clear the bracket/bolt. Thankfully it bolted right back on after the Hemi install so I guess it was worth it. Other than that I think EVO skid plate system clears with no modification due to the separate oil pan skid that bolts on to pan. It has way more clearance than the one piece oil pan/trans variant like Rock hard and several others.

Back on its wheels, and under its own power.

I got the driveshafts back today, and got the rear in.

Still a long ways to go, but it was good to get a first drive in.

I didn't reprogram the gear ratio first, so the trans had a hissy fit and would not shift.
After I cleared the codes and changed the ratio, all is good.

Man you have done a lot of work. Looks great!!! When is the first test trail?

Sent from my SM-G986U using WAYALIFE mobile app

I still need to wire and plumb the ARB compressor and locker solenoids, change trans and transfer case oils, and re mount the skids, plus set the bump stops, at a minimum before any trails.

Plus, I have to move out of my house this weekend, back into the toy trailer for a while.

I'm behind, as I wanted to go out before the 4th for a shakedown run, but now I don't know if I will make it.

Good work Jerry. Hope you can hit the trails soon. [emoji1303]

I'm going backwards.

Someone snuck in and set off a bomb in my Jeep.
It's amazing how much crap gets in there wheeling with top and doors off. Of course it don't help when I still splash through all the mud puddles 🙄

Now it's on to switches, wiring, and plumbing for the ARB

At least the outside got cleaned up good first.

Haha I like that switch placement. I just got my hands on some blank filler plates to fill gaps. Looking good Jerry.

Sent from my SM-G986U using WAYALIFE mobile app

Hmmm, I wonder where I got the idea?

That is a trial fit, and I'm going to add one or two switches to fill it in.

One will be my big brother delete switch, and I'm not sure on the other one. Maybe a switch for an Evo no limits for the sway bar. More $$ though. It never ends.

I wasn't ready yet to cut the factory switch module, so I just took it out. With a cage, that's easier said than done.

My one & only complaint about my cage is this ^^

What a pain in the dick to get wiring inside now. And taking that side bar out is a bigger pain in the dick. I've got a set of rock lights I need to hook
up and I'm trying to figure out the easiest place now to pit the switch & wiring....

By unbolting the bottom of the dash panel I was just able to pry it out enough to get a screwdriver in to release the latches on the factory switches. It took a while, first I didn't know how it came out I pried on it with a trim tool until I broke a corner😭

Then I remembered a video about a switch set up to bypass the factory locker switches that I was going to buy, before the axle swap came to be.

searchers4wd.com/jk-rubicon-locker-override-kit

It showed how to remove the switch, then I seen the cage.
What I was going to finish in a day will now take several days I'm sure.

Oh, and I still have to work. Damnit

Maybe I can get enough time in this week to "finish" enough to go wheeling at least.
