Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

Why did you go down in tire size?
Like Josh said. Those pictures are still the same 40x13.5 r17 MTRs that Ive had.

Dang, that ring and pinion look massive compared to the soda can! LOL
Lol yeah. When I took the pictures I figured it would make for a good comparison. My dad has a d30 r&p laying around so when I get a chance im gonna set them side by side just for shits and giggles.

Damn - all this work just to drive to the mall, crazy... :thumb:
After all this I should be able to take mall crawling to a whole knew level. Im trying to get mall bouncing in.

Picked up my lockers today. Ended up going with Detroits front and rear. The pictures out of the box is the d60 locker.

I also got the ball joints pressed out today. The lower was easy enough, but i had to figure out how to get the upper out. Ended up cutting a 7" long piece of DOM that I had laying around and it did the trick.

Both the lowers were a bit lose so Id say it was time for a new set anyway. Im thinking about getting some of the Dyntrac ProSteer ball joints but for $560 not so sure. For a Jeep that sees more wheeling then anything not sure its really worth it.

What kinda malls have mall bouncing? I need to step my game up and find one of these. Lmfao The benefit of the ProSteer Ball Joints is that they are rebuildable. May be worth it.

I say just get another set of stock ball joints, they'll hold up just fine
Id say your probably right if they will hold up to a heavy has powerjoke.

Those malls are definitely great fun lol. I do like the fact that im sure they will be last ball joints Id most likely ever have to buy for it. But then I think about how many others I can buy for that lol. If I drove my Jeep more then I do I would definitely go that route.

Gets a Cummins and starts trashing the Powerstoke. Typical... :cheesy:

lmao Id rather be Cummin then Stroking just saying [emoji23][emoji23]. I got so many friends with powerstrokes its just constant throwing shit back and forth at each other.

EDIT: Like I said here is my buddy. Just posted this on IG and he went there.

Oh jeez. You would use that line. I'm gonna go wash my eyes out with acid so I don't have to read it again. I meant to ask you, how did leadfoot treat you? You just had exhaust work done, correct?

Lol sorry perfect opportunity. They do great, but definitely gotta pay for the work. They did the exhaust, replaced some gauges and new intercooler boots because mine were old and blowing off. Nothing worse then only boosting 10psi and have zero power lol. I didnt realize what it was and drove most of the way up to windrock like that and back.

Dropped the rear axle out and tried to make a little room for that massive diff of the sterling. I made a good start, but it doesnt seem to be enough. I think im going to let it self clearance itself from there and the give it a few more whacks.

Im also trying to come up with a way to mount the track bar in. I planned on mounting in the ORIs and then figure it out, but I didnt realize I that I was going to need the trackbar to cycle the suspension (stupid me). Im thinking since I will be frenching the frame I want to mount it on the inside of the frame near the same spot it was. Im also thinking of mounting it a couple inches higher. Maybe someone can educate me, but I think that should be fine as long as I move the axle side mount over and up the same amount as the frame side. Any thought?

Nice. We are putting 14" front and rears in my buddies now. He put the full traction crc link in rear to replace the trackbar

I thought about putting 14" all the way around because I like the idea of them being all the same but I figured I didnt want to go through all the work of relocating stuff. I cant stand wiring and not very good so my luck my Jeep would never run again if I started screwing around with that stuff lol.

No update on the JK, but I believe I do know what Im going to do about a temporary track bar.

A couple of us decided we wanted to wheel saturday so that means time to try and get the YJ running since last time it came off the trailer the starter was pushing it around lol. Well earlier tried to start it and after giving it some starter fluid it did start. We let it idle for a few minutes then went to unlock the hubs so we could drive it down the road and I noticed it starting to have smoke coming out of the engine bay. Turns out coolant was poring out the thermostat housing and seemed to have some coming out of the water pump. So we then went to get some new radiator hoses, thermostat housing (probably should of replaced it all, but didnt), water pump and its been having fuel issues so we decided to get a new fuel filter. Here is some pictures from taking it apart and putting it all back.

Ended up scraping a ton of oil dirt mix off the front of the motor while things were off. I really want to degrease the motor and engine bay, but doubt it will run after lol. After putting it all back together noticed the radiator may have a little leak in the bottom Im hoping it doesnt but I guess Ill see in the morning. I believe its supposed to rain tomorrow, but if it isnt Im going to blow out all the fuel lines and put a new filter and completely drain the tank and start over and Im hoping that will fix some of the issues of it not getting fuel problems.
