Accepting their numbers as true, in the last 20 months, 1.7% of the diagnosed Covid cases in the U.S. resulted in death. Now, we know that the number of people who actually got covid substantially exceeds the number of diagnosed cases. Some estimates are that the true number could, conservatively, be at least 30% higher. I bet the number is much, much higher. Even at 30% higher though, that would bump down the IFR to 1.3% or less. Take people over 70 out of the equation and the numbers drop exponentially.
I guess we all just need to figure out for ourselves how much government intrusion into our lives we find acceptable in light of the statistically insignificant risk.

I absolutely agree...my point was in reference to the number of people hospitalized for covid that are not vaccinated, not how many people contract it..and the number that die from covid that are not vaccinated is even statistically higher, approaching 100%. it’s always statistically insignificant unless it’s you, your family, or your friends...

And I'm sorry Ed, but I'll be damned if I'm going to let any institution that prostitutes itself for donations set any policy that I am going to follow. The scientific community and academia are in the pockets of said donors that drive agendas. It's a fact and the scientists and scholars that have had enough of it are chastised and driven out or marginalized. This system is totally and absolutely corrupted. Exactly as both political parties are.

Then simply call your local hospital near you...and ask them. I know several people that work at hospitals, from nurses to surgeons...they are telling me the same thing...from the horse's mouth.
I am not trying to sway or dissuade you from getting the vaccine...that is a choice that should be made by the individual. Whenever I travel to a country with sketchy health care, I always ask my doctor what I should do before going medically wise...do I need a tetanus booster?...malaria medication?...etc.
Do you have a family doctor that you and your family see?...ask him or her; you trusted this person with the health welfare of your family for years...why wouldn't you trust them now?

I mean honestly, who gives a fuck how many people are getting it? The deaths are next to nothing. Do you honestly want to give up your freedoms to “protect” people you don’t know and will never meet? Do you never want to go fishing again? Do you never want to go to another state and go wheeling? That is what is happening. This has nothing to do with a vaccine. They literally change their narrative every time it doesn’t go their way.

70% vaccine with be herd immunity and we can go back to normal. We hit that and things are closing back down. True or false? (This was said when vaccine was first released)
The vaccine will protect you from getting covid. People with the vaccine continue to get covid. True or false?

I'm not denying the virus. I'm denying the narrative. There are proven alternatives that are effective that are not hillbillies eating apple flavored horse wormer paste.
The entire system is corrupted. I do not believe them. Not saying that at the local level the front line workers aren't trying their damndest either.

First and foremost, I mostly care about my family and the ones I love...sorry Adam, you are not high on the list (but you are on the list)...
All of those facts are mostly true. I have chosen to get vaccinated mainly not because it will keep me from getting covid...there is a chance I may still contract it...I got vaccinated because I don't want to go to the hospital and have a tube shoved down my throat and hooked up to a ventilator. Am I 100% unlikely going to the hospital after contracting covid being vaccinated?...of course not...nothing is 100% (except the Raiders not making the playoffs). But I like my odds a lot more than being unvaccinated, since I'm closer to 80 than I am to 40.
Everyone should make their own choice...I firmly believe this. Just make your choice based on correct data, not just the data you choose to believe because it is what you would like the reality to be.
I take a daily med to prevent a gout episode, because my doctor recommends it. I take a yearly physical examination and blood work because my doctor recommends it. I got vaccinated because my doctor recommends it...

This is the crux of the matter. The same machine that is openly sided either right or left and openly pulling for one party and narrative over the other is also the ones I'm supposed to believe are not lying to me about Covid? And everything they're telling me is on the up and up? The same machine that ground everyone up that suggested that the virus escaped from a lab last year? Those people? I'm sorry. I'll take my own chances before I believe any of them anymore.

And I am fine with all those reason for you choosing it. But why should I have to get it if I don’t agree with it? It has nothing to do with data for me. I am healthy (albeit, a couple extra pounds) and I don’t get sick. Haven’t been in a few years actually.

If you don't want to get vaccinated, don't...I'm perfectly fine with that. I don't tell people not to drink or smoke either...
There are very few instances that I would agree would constitute a mandatory vaccination...one of them is our military. They should be in line for every vaccination that ever comes out to fight any new illness...this is going to be the warfare of the future. You don't have to die from a contagion to be a useful tool against an enemy...you only need to incapacitate a portion of their fighting force, even momentarily, to be effective.
