12' Gecko Build

The shocks will be quick, and the gate carrier shouldn't be too bad. I am absolutely gonna wait on the rock stars just because that is going to take some time and rolling around on the ground and with it being in the negative temps out here in MT I have no desire to do that any time soon

Ok I got the passenger side front shock in and tested the length of it. I was really hesitant to go with a shock this long since I know it was going to be really close. At full flex my coil is looser than I would like BUT as long as I'm not out jumping the thing I think I'll be alright and DAMN the front of this this will flex

Hard to tell in the video but I was tugging pretty hard on it (so to speak)

Looks great! 🍻

What Rancho part numbers did you go with on the shocks?

So one more thing to note, when I was doing all of my shock measurements I was using the picture below. The shocks i bought stated extended length was 27.3" so I dropped the axle to that measuring off of that picture and the coils looked plenty fine. Well turns out using those same measuring points at full droop the shocks measure 28" which is obviously .7 more than I expected which is why the coils are looser than I want. Turns out the red bushing on the under side of the mounting spot is .7" tall. So I guess Rancho does their measuring from that lower washer down to the center of the bolt.

So Idk if they are too loose or not, with some hard effort I could probably get the coil to move more but by no means would it come completely out because of the bump stops

Picture won't load but it's the same one you use to tell how much actual lift you got, diagram measuring the shock length

Looks good. You could always add a limiting strap, but I would get out and try it out and see how it is now first.
