12' Gecko Build

Ok all 4 are in and I took it for a little test drive. All corners set to 3. Initial impressions is it feels like I just dropped the psi in my tires to 15 haha so smooth on the road, more floaty on shallow bumps and less harsh on the hard bumps.

I do think eventually I'm going to go to 4 in the front and 2 in the back I think it will even it out better for all the weight I have up front and the lack of weight in the rear

Nice huh?!. Love the ride. I even found some fluid film at Lowe's and applied that too.

Just hit my 500 miles on the gears so I bought some gear oil hopefully I'll get to changing the diffs sometime this week.

Turns out when I looked at the gear oil I already had I ended up putting synthetic in the front diff. Hopefully it's not going to mess with any of the seals in the ARB but it's only 500 miles. Pull the diffs clean it out check the teeth and new dino oil should be good to go

So I went to go pull the cover on the pr44 and turns out my craftsman socket set does not contain a 12 point 1/4" drive 5/16" socket or a 12 point 3/8" deep sockets soooooooo I can't get the bottom center bolt out of the cover. And of course no one in town besides the snap on guy has the socket I need and he wants $20 for the 1 socket.... looks like I'm going to have to order one online and wait dang it

I had to buy one too. I actually bought a whole set of the 1/4" drive 12 points.
I thought about doing that too but I couldn't think of any other 12 point bolts I would need sockets for so I just bought the one.

At least I figured it out now and not on the trail after blowing up a diff and can't get the cover off haha. Same with I never had a 36mm socket until doing my axle swap that would have been bad of I broke a shaft on my last JK

Your brake calipers need 13MM 12 point if I remember correctly...

After hearing you did the Trail Leader kit I thought I'd give your build a read.

Good work and nice rig! I'll have to follow along from now on. :thumb:
