WJCO's Build Thread, 1999 WJ

Worked on the high lift mount for the carrier today. I had enough steel sitting around that I just decided to build one. I just kept it simple. I basically just need to weld a bracket at the top to secure it and drill a couple of holes and it's done. Not sure when I'll get to that.

Finished the jack mount today. Made a support bracket and welded it on.

Had the perfect piece of scrap to make a clearance spacer that the bolt could still go through.

Bolted up with a wing nut. I need a shorter bolt, but that's all I had at the time. There's one more bolt on the bottom pedastal that I forgot to take a picture of, it also has a wing nut.

I didn't anticipate this, but lucked out. To open the hatch, I have to push the carrier out quite a ways. Then after the hatch is closed, the carrier/jack come to rest here. Just below the paint. Close one.

And here's the finished product. Feels good to be a real Jeeper again.

Lookin good! Now all you need is a gay switch panel that doesn't line up and includes an in car winch control no one ever uses and you'll be set! :thumb:

I really did think about cutting off a few inches.

Looking good...and I can understand why you worked on it today instead of watching the Broncos...at least my team has a qb...

I'm having a little trouble understanding your posts with all that badass color you inserted.
