What Happened to all the Eggs??

At that price I would be going without for a while. Hell I paid around $8 for an eighteen pack and didn’t really want to do that but I was on the hook for a couple custard pies for a Christmas party.
I didn’t know that much beef is needed to make custard pie

Seems to be behind a paywall. What’s it say?
Really?? Damn, that's lame. In a nutshell, the state government made it so that non-cage free eggs can't be sold in the state and that's contributed to the shortage being that so many egg laying chickens have been killed because of the bird flu BS. Even with higher prices, it's been tough to keep eggs on the shelves.

Works for me. Basically Nevada government passed stupid legislation.
Eric Withey typically goes through 60 eggs a week, but recently decided to cut back.

“We were getting a dozen for like, $2.60 or something, and now you’re paying what, like $6 or $7.”

Instead Withey opted for an 18-count, which cost him around $9, whereas his typical 60-count would have been around $22.

The price of eggs continues to climb because of the national egg shortage caused by avian flu. Since the outbreak started in 2022, more than 145 million birds, the majority being egg-laying chickens, have been slaughtered.

Nevadans feel the affects more than other states because of legislation passed in 2021 that restricts the sale of non-cage-free eggs or egg products from being sold in Nevada, which is making the shortage “even more pronounced,” according to the Retail Association of Nevada.Nevada is one of 10 states with cage-free egg laws.

That’s so retarded all around. First of all I’m the summer I get 12 plus dozen eggs a week from my hens and I don’t even eat close to 60 eggs. Dude has an addiction. Second there is no regulation on egg labeling so putting that law into place was dumb

It really is completely stupid.

We used to have chickens and we have a big coop now, we just aren't home enough to keep/care for them. I don't know, maybe it's time to figure something out.
Same we never could eat all the damn eggs we were producing. We have a neighbor now we get eggs from. They are in the same boat with more than they can consume so they sell them still cheap. Well 3$ a dozen I guess really isn’t cheap but they are far superior to store bought.
