RAUSCH CREEK TRIP 10/26-10/27 (GREENS/BLUES with a touch of BLACKS)

I was going to ask that. So as of right now I am going to head up on Friday as soon as I can get out of work. So I am a "GO" for the trip. :thumb: If something comes up and I can't make it I will make sure you know.

Excellent.we will have the fire ready waiting for you..looking forward to meet you

We like fire. Fire is good. Fire is your friend. So is a really good sleeping bag and a tent that won't leak if it rains like it did the last time!

Starting to get that "I need to start putting together the packing list" feeling! I'm going to bring an extension cord and my 2 gallon shop compressor for the camp. We started to talk about dinner several weeks ago, so we'll solidify that plan in the next week. Dr. Madness, I will give you a call, then we can divide and conquer the specifics.

Again, this is going to be yet another epic camping/wheeling weekend!

Congrats on your milestone my friend you are now HOOKED ....which means more decals YOU CULT MEMBER YOU
......:cheesy::cheesy::cheesy::cheesy:

Funny you mention stickers. I've actually had people stop and look and stuff on account of the Wayalife banner on the windshield. Looks sexy on the big black JKU. I also had a cop stop today at a green light next to my Jeep. Not sure if he was admiring or what... Definitely not eyeing me in suspicion as I wasn't even moving. It's cool seeing the reactions from Jeepers and non Jeepers down the road.

Now when I'm lifted on 35's blasting Luke Bryan in my crappy stereo, those will be different looks entirely :wings::rock:

So is there anything I need to bring? Basically are we fending for ourselves on food or are just eating these hotdogs I keep reading about? Honestly though, let me know.

Now that's funny! I haven't paid attention to my post count or description. We are Wayalife. Resistance is futile. I'm open for suggestions for my next Jeep Tat.

Everybody is bringing their own drinks (beer/water/soda/american honey) and there's already hot dogs galore and i'm gonna bring some burgers also to share and chips and snacks....feel free to bring what you want (no requirements)

If I do make it down it will only be for Saturday wheeling but we shall see.

Do we have to start a bl17z90 hardship relief fund? Text HELP to bl17z90 from your AT&T phone to donate :twocents: to this disaster relief fund and help a Jeeper get on his wheels. Proceeds will go directly to fund the :drunkbuds::celebrate: so he can :driving: since he is :broke:

Aside from the camping gear (tent or JKUR with backseat folded down, sleeping bag, head lamp, camp chair, etc), you should bring plenty of water and any other drinks and snacks of your choosing. Breakfast Saturday/Sunday morning is usually the Burger King on the way to RC. You'll need to pack a lunch for the days you are wheeling. We are going to figure out dinner for Friday and Saturday nights over the next week. It usually involves hot dogs, brats, burgers, etc. If you want something specific, go ahead and bring it. Last time, everybody and their mother brought packs of hot dogs and hot dog buns. Because of the rain, moderate to heavy drinking, and general tomfoolery, I ended up having to throw away 5 or 6 packs of half used hot dog bun bags. KP salvaged about 5 or 6 packs of unopened hot dogs. I'm sure they're still good... If you have a camping grill, I'd go ahead and pack that along with a small propane tank or two just in case. I cannot promise that there will be any charcoal grills to use. There weren't last time, and the EV Manager has been very non-committal about providing any for us.

The campground sells ice for $2/bag. So does the gas station right by BK. I would make sure you at least start out with ice before you get there. We get our firewood from the camp at $8/9 pieces of wood. Bring some cash for the firewood fund, and $15/night (cash) to pay for the campground use. RC takes both cash and credit, but I don't know their prices. Their website should have them, though.

Bring warm clothes and rain gear. We saw Noah and his ark float by us at some point during the evening last time. Cold and wet is a miserable way to spend time in the woods. There is a shower facility at the campground, but it is about 300-400 meters away from the pavilion area (different one from last time for those who are returning). Bring shower shoes if you plan on using it. I don't trust the disinfecting skills of the campground staff. There are port-o-jons in our area, so bring your favorite roll of toilet paper just in case your bowels aren't synched with the cleaning crew's visit. This is where that headlamp comes in VERY handy. It will more than likely be dark when we get back, so a little light takes all the guesswork out of any paperwork you have to file (so to speak). No sinks to wash your hands afterwards, so use baby wipes, hand sanitizer, or just rub some dirt on them and you'll be fine.

Oh yeah, and we'll all need some American Honey!

Ballz and Ms. Balzac have to come! I still have your dogs' leashes, so there is a good reason why you have to show up. I'll cover you on firewood and will waive my usual Logistics Planning Fee. I will also see if we can upgrade your standard camping site to a more luxurious location (away from the tree-pee line and a little further away from eHogany). I'll even let you use as much of my Grey Poupon as you want!

So it's settled. See you on Yellow Jacket. I'll be the one hanging on the side of your rig ensuring you keep the shiny side up. I'll have the time, since I will have already bypassed that trail with the rest of the BSBC (aka Team Low and Slow).

The combined moaning of a 253 pound lady and a mamoth eating 32 chili dogs at the same time was a bit disturbing.

I am almost certain that Heather won't make the trip as she is likely to be hungover and or still drunk by 4 am Saturday morning from the Halloween party at her sisters Friday night (i got stuck as dd since I drank last time) and we can't miss this since she has been waiting to do this for 2 years (we all ran run for your lives zombie 5k last year on the day that they would have had it)

But on the off chance I feel ok Saturday morning and I get the OK from her (we are really starting to save hardcore for the wedding) I will head up for the day and wheel with you guys. I don't know if I will bother with yellow jacket again since I proved last time to myself that I could do it but them again if its part of the trail why would i go around it :idontknow:

Thanks for all the info and allowing me time to devise potential precautionary measures that may be necessary due to I was not there but curious how you ended up with 5-6 packs of "half used" hot dog BAGS. This trip is starting to sound like one that might go in the record books.

As far as American Honey...I gave up drinking about 3 years ago. After drinking my weight in booze annually for about 25 years I thought my liver needed a break. But not drinking hasn't stopped me from my normal insanity, it is just sober insanity now.
