RAUSCH CREEK TRIP 10/26-10/27 (GREENS/BLUES with a touch of BLACKS)

The only problem I see with them is that I would have to drill through the frame or weld them. I thought they would have bolted from the bottom where those three bolts are already located but it says you have to drill through the frame?

They're not factory then. The factory Rubicon sliders are bolt on.

A good set of sliders like LoD will need you to drill new holes anyways so don't be turned off by that.

I vote cb btw, i have only ever done 1 thing at rausch where i needed aliders and that was on yellow jacket last trip. I didn't even slide on them they caught me from falling into a rock so rubi sliders would have been no help.

Just my :twocents:
You have a 2 door with 35's Zach, Mike has 4 doors with no lift and 33's. Big difference!!!!!!

I originally said I'd go up to Rausch on 10/26 but am changing that to I'll be up on 10/27 and possibly camping out on the 26th.

Very true but your frame rails hang a good bit lower than your pinch seam. Not that its good to scrape the frame, i have done it :doh but you're much more likely to bang the frame rails than the body with the kind of wheeling we have done to date.

But again it is bery important for you to feel comfortable when wheeling your Jeep and sliders will give you more peace of mind than a cb for sure

Sorry I forgot to get back to you about that. I've got 33's right now. They won't fit on those wheels will they?

Sliders or a CB for the next trip. Which one is the priority?

I'd say sliders. I did things backwards and got the cb first thinking it was a higher priority but the cb is no good if I can't open my doors to get to it. If you decide to go with the sliders I have a pair of two way radios I could bring up for the day for you to use.

I might take you up on the radio. I'll let you know for sure as we get closer. Looks like I'm gonna go with the sliders for sure. Like Zach said, at least I'll feel more comfortable.

Not trying to take attention away from mike but I need sliders too. I'm open to suggestions. I'm trying to stay under 500. I've been looking at jcr sliders.

Most sliders are good but if you're going to buy aftermarket stay away from the ones that bolt to the pinch seam and the ones that use thr body mounts.

If you are going with ones that bolt to the frame get ones that bolt to the bottom of the rail and the side, just for the extra coverage.

If you want weld on, evo sliders are the way to go. Having said that any frame bolt on sliders can be welded as well.

One quick question, are cb antennas universal? I just picked one up for free but it doesn't have one or the cable, just the cb and Mic. Looks to be a few years old.

I'm in a 4 door Jeep limo riding damn near stock and I rarely hit my sliders. If I could only armor one thing, it'd be that space b/t the crossmember and the front axle that includes the oil pan and a few other items that don't react too well to sharp rocks. I don't know what Mike has in the way of armor under there, but this could be something to think about too.

I'll bring them either way but yea, let me know if you need them.

So sliders aren't first priority for armor? Or is that just with a JKU?
