RAUSCH CREEK TRIP 10/26-10/27 (GREENS/BLUES with a touch of BLACKS)

Thanks JKMadness!

I'm gonna pull the trigger on the Uniden kit... how's the antenna on that one from Qtec??

Also... a 20, 000 lb tow strap is sufficient for a JKU right?

Sent from my phone while I should probably be getting work done

Go to Amazon and get the radio and firestik 2..... Do get a firestik 2

Oh dang I don't have a tent. That's what jeep backseats are for! :yup:

It rained last trip and I was not putting my tent up in the rain so I folding the backseat down and laid out my sleeping bag. I have to say it was quite comfortable

We had the great combination of rain and flooding in the campsite. Those who did not choose wisely when they set up their tents, or those who did not waterproof their tents suffered the wonders of wet tent interiors and sleeping bags. Despite all of that, we still had a great time. Campfires can do wonders for morale.

We had a few people sleep inside their Jeeps (Unlimited's, obviously). If you have a 4 door and elect to do that, I would highly recommend some kind of sleep mat.

OR...you could get crazy and get a hammock with a tarp. There are plenty of trees to use.

I'm hoping I'll be able to make this trip depending upon wedding stuff and our dog. If I make it I'll be up for the whole weekend and drayko would probably join saturday night if he can't get off of work. If I can make it and there's any interest I would like to try and wheel sunday also. It would be nice to meet those of you I missed last time and anyone new coming

Someone posted on the forum a ways back that a company makes a hammock specifically that fits inside the JKU. Runs from the rear roll bar diagonally across to the corner of the sound bar. I was gona look into it before I decided to actually get a tent and all. Still would be cool.

That's fantastic news, keep me posted and let me know when you guys know for sure

Someone needs to remember to bring smores stuff. I forgot yet again last time. I have it all in my house.

Rocco, I had two bags of marshmallows, two boxes of graham crackers, and three bags of Hershey's Chocolate Bars LOL! Ballz and Heather had MONSTER marshmallows there as well. Now that I know there is a demand, I'll make sure I push the issue around the fire. I had a few s'mores, but it must have been on the down low. My apologies.

At least we killed two bottles of American Honey! That's kind of like dessert.

Those monster marshmallows were insane! Never seen a marshmallow that big.
