Of course, we’re the ones who need to ban plastic straws 👍🏻

The Philippines must be some sort of a dump.

Apparently only something like 4% of recyclable plastic is recycled in the USA. The rest of it remains in special piles.

I am old enough to remember a time before our plastic world, yet life was not bad back then. Sure, the coke bottle might have marks on it from rolling on a parking lot before, but it was just fine.

We used reusable containers. Meat products were wrapped in paper rather than plastic wrap. Straws were made out of waxed paper.

As a result of the plastic revolution, everywhere you look there is plastic refuse on the ground, which may take 1000 years to degrade into powder.

The plastic revolution has been convenient, but it is clearly bad for our world.

But if a stretch Bob. Plastic only takes about 500 years to breakdown.

I have a cousin that runs landfills. Most trash is burned and the ashes are buried. Recycling has always been a scam.

Nevertheless, in Dallas, TX we faithfully put recycling in a special can and a special truck comes to pick it up every week. In Commiefornia it is common to have three cans.

Back in the day, recycling aluminum was not a scam since it has actual value.

Anyone out there still believe that "Peak Oil" bullshit and that oil and natural gas comes from decayed dinosaurs and plants? We're never going to run out of petroleum/natural gas because the earth continually makes it. Another lie we've been fed since grade school.

Gas/Oil prices are artificially propped up just like diamonds are. It's a control mechanism

Recycling has always been a scam. Most of the paper and plastic products "recycled" in the last 2 decades were shipped around the world to be BURNED in Chinese power plants. Now China has a large enough consumer base that they have their own trash to burn. That's why the recycling program in your area has probably become more strict, complicated, or gone altogether. 1 ton of recycled paper saves 17 trees and uses half the water but what they fail to explain is what it took to build the fleet of giant diesel burning trash trucks to come pick it up week after week.
