MULTI PURPOSE fenders. So I got in a argument with the 55 gallon drum fenders and we broke up. Good news though I found some scrap steel at work, from when I was building out welding trucks. So today we have flat fenders!!

So do I. I’m glad I ran across the material at work to make them.I agree with the others. The flat fenders look way better!![]()
Thanks!I really enjoy watching these projects come to life. Nice work. Some great progress.
Those look good, are you going to dog-ear the corners? So I got in a argument with the 55 gallon drum fenders and we broke up. Good news though I found some scrap steel at work, from when I was building out welding trucks. So today we have flat fenders!!
Excellent! I'd say you're better off without her... Er hers? Flat > Curved - on Jeeps and corresponding trailers anywaySo I got in a argument with the 55 gallon drum fenders and we broke up. Once I have them mounted I was going to do that part. Should have the tabs welded on today, to bolt them on.Those look good, are you going to dog-ear the corners?
Definitely better off!! Two is better then one ... right?Excellent! I'd say you're better off without her... Er hers? Flat > Curved - on Jeeps and corresponding trailers anyway![]()
I like the round over you marked out on the corners. Just a thought but have you considered welding small metal tubing to the outside edge, Like armor..Once I have them mounted I was going to do that part. Should have the tabs welded on today, to bolt them on.
I didn’t think that exact thought, but something similar. I’m now thinking of just putting rubber edging on it and keep it simple looking. I’m going to be putting sliders to help protect the front of the fender.I like the round over you marked out on the corners. I framed mine out in 3/4” tubing. The idea for me was to make them stout enough to stand on when deploying the tent, unloading etc.I didn’t think that exact thought, but something similar. I’m reconsidering the round over. I may do a straight line cut back that goes through the jack support, to help it all tie together.
I’ll have to give that some thought. Not sure I would have the need to stand on them in most situations. There could be that time though.I framed mine out in 3/4” tubing. The idea for me was to make them stout enough to stand on when deploying the tent, unloading etc.
You’re not the first to ask this question. Maybe this is something I should consider.Sooo… are you gonna be building and selling these? If so, I’d be interested.
Thank you!!Awesome job! Looking great!!!
