LS swap into a 97 TJ

Dang. Turned out pretty good.

Did the Power Steering pump and lines on mine yesterday. Apparently they do this thing where they wear out after running 33x12.5s for 20 years! I keep forgetting to take pictures when I do this stuff.

I've been trying to do better with taking pictures. I will probably upgrade to the Dodge Durango pump when I go to 35's so the 22 year old stock pump won't have to suffer through it.

Got the motor mounts tack welded and did a test fit. Everything looks good. Unfortunately I won't be able to run the auxiliary fan and the electric fan. Both don't fit. I'm probably just going to stick with the electric fan.IMG_20180302_195846.jpgIMG_20180302_195840.jpgIMG_20180302_195829.jpg

The nosecone on the starter interfered with the Jeep bell housing so I had to grind it down. Had the starter tested yesterday and it looked brand new on the machine. IMG_20180303_114351.jpgIMG_20180303_114356.jpg

The engine is in! As well as the transmission. That was a pain in the ass because of how far out the motor mounts stick in. I had to nose the transmission in with the engine two feet above my head. IMG_20180304_215212.jpg. It's sitting pretty until tomorrow night when I can install the transmission crossmember. I have a floor jack supporting the rear of the tranny so it's not pressuring the motor. IMG_20180304_232619.jpgIMG_20180304_232625.jpgIMG_20180304_232635.jpg

Got some wiring done, radiator mounted, all coolant lines run, and got my dash off. Boy was that a pain in the ass. PO was making payments on the car and had a repo box spliced into the ignition. I ripped that out as soon as I could and spliced it back to normal. Next week I'll probably tackle the obd wiring, and then I should be just about done! The going rate is 5 HP per sticker right? I think I'm set. I've gotta thank you again for recommending the earthquake gun. That thing has been a lifesaver for this whole build.

Jeep is coming along, looks good. Glad to hear you liked that gun. I just recently purchased one as well but have yet to use it for a big job, it got great reviews.
