You coming back home?

Naw, just passing thru. Had to take a short haul to get into place for one of my TX runs. Sorry,if I had gotten out of the port sooner and not lost a rim (because of Miguel, lol) I wouldve had time to grab the ball joint kit for you.

I'm no where near the ball joint stage yet. Thank you for thinking of me. You should be thinking of your woman....

However I am thinking of getting the lower skins from EVO........That will be super nerve-racking drilling into the body of the jeep. However I am going to buy the upper skins for the EVO tire carrier, so drilling is going to happen no matter what. I plan on buying those all together next year....Jan or Feb.....More OT is needed. I think Sharky said a good tool to buy..................I'm really hoping someone else has the tool in town..:fingerscrossed:

Duh! I just figured it out, you didnt know the Mrs is with me ALL THE TIME ?:banghead: She drives too. In fact,we getting ready to swap in Madera, her shift is almost over.

Nut inserter. I guess there are good ones and not so good nut serts.

You dont mean a rivet nut tool,do you? I have the one I got with my fenders, but it isnt anything more than a nut and bolt but it works. Yes there are way better, but how much/often are you planning to use one?

Looks like this.... but you can use the nut and bolt.... but for a lot of them its a PITA!

Exactly, but I was just saying you dont need to spend the money for a nice one if you only doing a few. I did like 15 or 20 with the nut/bolt and it worked ok. Any more than that and there'd be one of those in my box too:thumbup:

Man and I thought this thread was invisible to others outside of Fresno!!!! :standing wave: Yeah I think that's the one but not sure if that's the brand.

I remember reading there is a difference between the good ones and the bad ones on how they crimp. I just want to make sure it's crimped correctly because it's meant to take a impact and hope that it will hold true. But you do have a point....how many times will you plan on using it. I could rent it out!!!

http://www.aircraftspruce.eu/COMBO-RIVET-RIVNUT-TOOL-KIT.htm

This is the kit I have, but it does all rivet sizes and nutserts up to 3/8

I think the only worry you have is crimping it crooked.... other than that; its really a no brainer

These suck balls! If you are doing nutserts, do yourself a favor and spend the money to get one that has a throw like bolt cutters. Having installed EVO skins and corners with both types of tools, I can tell you the bolt cutter style are well worth the extra money.

Jesse - I've got the high buck one that 10Frank9 told me to get, you're welcome to borrow it - you know me, I'll be sitting on my mods for weeks before I can find time to use that tool.
Maybe Lee could stop by Santa Maria and pick it up.

Actually, I think you can rent one too if needed.
