I ended up buying the Poison Spyder lower skids. I talked with Northridge 4x4 and said there where almost the same but the middle was a little higher on the EVO's. Both dont come powder coated and EVO once was but stopped a month ago. Then also bought the rear door cover from Poison spyder and the license plate delete. I plan on running with no tire for a while!!! I'll let you guys know what the lower skid looks like.

Very cool. I need to put them on before I burn on the VKS sliders.

The Poison Spider skins have the option of a rubber sheet under the skins - supposed to help with wear against the body and/or rocks stuck between the skin and the body, dust etc.
EVO's don't have that option and I wonder if, in time, the skins without the rubber gasket will wear through the paint of the Jeep?
You guys seem to all be going to buy EVO's - had you thought of that (the rubbers)?

Yeah, I used the word "rubbers."

Looking into how they are installed, you do need to install the skins before the sliders or you would be cutting off the sliders or working around them.

I did notice that Poison spyder offers that last night but I did not order it. I'll have to call Northridge to see if they offer that if not I've seen guys put epoxy on the back of it to stop that happening. That was my thought about going only EVO. That's one reason why I went with Poison spyder but the main reason was because it was cheaper.

Your a funny guy.....Rubbers!!!! :cheesy:

I don't have those yet but will eventually....... the way I see it is that you have already had to drill into the tub to mount the skins to start with, so as far as I am concerned they are permanent never to taken off. So a little paint wear would not be a worry to me.

Also I would think the one "with" the rubber would wear the paint more, since they are not tight up against the tub but have a squishy layer between the skins and the tub that is also prone to dry rot and crack...... letting even more crap in between the skins and the tub.

Now being where I live(rust belt), I would still most likely take them off every spring and clean and inspect for rust under them but I wouldn't really care about the paint since it will just be covered again;)

Now this all just my opinion and :twocents: , so if you all think I am full of it that is OK too:D

You've got a point that I did not think about. I'm thinking of using a hot glue gun about the trim when installing it. But I've got to see if hot glue with eat the clear coat.

Actually, if your skins are tight, there shouldnt be any vibration to harm the clearcoat, assuming you plan to go with the rubber. Just be sure to use a spot of locktite on the bolts. Mine are on with pop rivets but thats about to change I'm thinking. Any ideas where in town to buy sheets of rubber? If you cant get any let me know, I can get you some for free that will work perfect for you. Paper mills use 4' X 4' sheets when they ship rolled paper, the rolls are placed on the sheets when loading the trailers to keep the rolls from sliding around in transit.

We are Jeep..Resistance is futile..

The 4x4 sheets would be to small.

Ooh ooh ooh, Harbor Freight!! Toolchest drawer liner, dirt cheap and come in rolls about 20' long.:D

May not be 20' but there's enough to do what you need. Was sitting here trying to remember where I just saw a roll of rubber and DUH!, I just used a roll the other day for my drawers at home. (See, the memory does go first:D )
