I feel super shitty right now. Installing the U-joints onto my chromoly axle shafts and crack. Well the pictures will explain everything!!!! Tried to make enough room to get the full c-clips in and had no idea what was going to happen!!!!! I feel like shit now.

Are they Alloy USA? I'm going to call Kevin and see if he can put them together for me!!!

The ones I have are Spicer

Let me call Alloy USA and tell them the problems I had. I just had enough to put the clips in and snap. Hope they will get my two new caps since nothing else is bad........Well I hope nothing else is bad since I just left it all together.

Not A Good Day

Today was not a good day for me. Started with the U-joints and cracked two caps. Then I started to rotate the tires and get the spare swapped in, with my torque wrench breaking. Went over to Sears and they said.....Do you have your receipt for warranty????? No. Lucky I convenience them I got it a good 7 months ago when I bought my Jeep and swapped it out for me. I did grease some nipples that was needed. I finished up all the bushing on the Jeep. Then I wanted to figure out why the dash light was staying on. I created a thread about it......

I did not realize that my Jeep was going to be a full time job with endless working on it!!!!

I think this song best describes what I'm feeling.

I finally received my new U-Joint from Alloy USA. Going over to BONDSY house and get them all put together. Alloy USA sent me a U-Joint last week and which was for the 2006 Rubicon model 11500 U-Joint. So I might sell it or keep it for someone on the trail???

I'm super pissed off. So I went over to Tom's (BONDSY) house today to get the U-Joints pressed in. So we started with pressing out the old U-Joint and sure enough these joints are crap. Just look at the Fucking pictures. So we started with the other axle shaft to press in the other U-Joint. He said he's never had such issues with U-Joints ever. He said the spicer compared to these new U-Joints that Alloy USA are now selling are wider/longer which is making it super tight which we could not get the Full c-clip in. We both were afraid to crack another cap. I'm just going to drop them off at 4 wheel parts and let them dick around with them. Then he said if I would have bought them through Northridge4x4 they would have been put together for me. Wish I could go back!!!!!:doh:

This is what happened when they got pressed out!!!!!

Got my Jeep back from Dodge after two weeks. Trying to get the rear locker switch covered under warranty but since I replaced my gears they told me its no longer under warranty. I saw the emails back and forth from Dodge dealer and Chrysler seems like its a common problem for them to go out.....I think its bull. I'm still waiting for a response from them to see if it would be covered, the previous times the dealership talked with them, I was not involved. Cross your fingers that the switch will be covered since the repair through them is $850. I did however get the switch just in case they said not covered.

I also dropped off my chromoly axle shafts to 4 wheel parts. Hope they have better luck with them than I did!!!!!!!

Installed: Chromoly axle shafts and Synergy ball joints

Received the call this morning from 4 Wheel Parts around 9:30am. Kevin at 4 wheel parts in Fresno said they got them together with a little over a hour... Glad they got them done and man that was a relief. Started around 11am this morning and ended around 7:45pm. This was a long day for me installing these parts on the Jeep, hoping that I didn't break anything.

So I installed the Alloy USA Dana 44 chromoly axle shafts and installed the Synergy ball joints. I started with the drivers side which took double the time than the passenger side since I got it down on what I needed to do. Removing the ball joints I noticed the two bottom ball joints where super loose. Not sure if that's normal but compared to the Synergy they where much different on being able to move them. I want to make a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO BONDSY for letting me use his ball joint remover/ installer. And on his birthday, he helped me over the phone with several different questions. Overall the installation was just time consuming. Having to make sure the rotor and the brake calipers came together, making sure the bottom bolt on the knuckle was still on while pounding from the top. I ended up not using the Alloy USA axle seals that I bought.

I ended opening up the front differential cover to make sure that the gears still looked good. I personally did not see any wear on the gears, which seemed odd to me!!! Put the Lucas synthetic gear oil in the differential. Drove the Jeep and no leaks ATM.......I'm thinking I would have seen any leaks once driving the Jeep but none. I make sure to keep an eye on that.

LOL. I've owned the Jeep for 7 months and drove 3k miles. It's been a mall crawler since then (Love you wifey). Glad it was clean working around all the parts. I did however had to use sand paper to get rid of the rust once I removed the ball joints and various other parts.

Getting the wifes together is a bad idea. Thoughts will be floating around about how much we're spending on our rigs!!! :naw:

LOL.....My wife wants a Jeep of her own. To bad it's not in the budget or that one would be on 37's as well. Do you have a Jeep of your own as well?
