JK's JK Rubicon Build

To start, if you don't get them siliconed in good enough they will spin and eventually start coming out of the tube and rub on your pretty new shafts. Once that happens, and I'm sure it will at least once, you'll have to pull your shafts AGAIN to fix it. Most people just run without anything at all. There's nothing wrong with mine, just took several tries to get them to seat right and stay. I won't need them after I swap the front axle, what I don't sell or give away will go to the trash. At the pace you are going I'll have my 1ton front bought and installed before you swap shafts so if you want them they're yours.

We are Jeep..Resistance is futile..

I'll have them in this coming month before the run and read up on it thoroughly. Thanks for the thought. Lucky I only spent 50 on them.

Also, plan on buying new zerks for them. I got angled ones for mine because it's a pain to use the ones they come with. And don't ask the ex burger flippers at Auto Zone what a zerk is, that will just totally screw up their heads. They don't have a clue what those are and will actually try to look it up on the computer via make and model of your ride.

ROFL... ex burger flippers....:cheesy:

If you really want see some chaos, go to Pep Boys and tell them you want a zerk for a 1932 Ford. 3 clerks and a manager later they'll figure out the computers don't go back that far, while you're picking a box of them off the shelf next to the grease guns, lmao.

Finally got some pictures of my fire extinguisher that my girlies got me for Christmas. A nice addition for safety.

LOOK WHAT I GOT IN THE MAIL WAITING FOR ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Some EVO stuff...............A bumper, a stinger and D-ring mounts. I got home and started cutting away the bar to accomplish my first step. Now I got to flip the sway bar and spray paint the supports.

EVO bumper, stinger and winch installation

Let me tell you guys what.......Super annoyed of this installation. Looking at some write ups on how to flip the sway bar and decided the best way to flip it was up. I did not like the idea of having the sway bar connector facing the ground so I cut the plastic and bent the bracket that holds the sway bar in place. I did however buy a bolt which is 10M-1.50 x 100 ($1.66 at Lowes) and worked perfectly. Then coming to installing the bumper..............This is were it started to get interesting :puke:. What I should have done was put the whole thing together and then drill out the holes on the top for the stinger................Instead I sharp'ed the holes and then drilled. When I put the bumper back together the holes did not line up, at least one side. So I'm currently at the point where I have to remove the bolts again on the top and mount the bumper fully then re-drill the holes. Going to finish this job up tomorrow. And I give a shout out to my wife for helping me while in the cold.......She was freezing. :yup:

I posted in the other thread about how to install the stinger. You need to go one by one drilling the holes. Start with one on one side then do that same one on the other side. And repeat this process. The stinger bends toward the bumper and you need to do one by one.

Dang, that sucks. Overlander and I replied to you on franks build thread, but I should have PMd you about mounting the stinger

Edit: well there's an echo and we replied to you on here as well :cheesy:

Thank you guys for the support :drunkbuds: and realized Overlander posted after his post in this tread. The holes are luckily not far off by a 1/8 a inch but enough for the front of the bumper not to fully seat 1/32 or so. I'm not to worried about the installation but it was annoying. I'll have it all done by tomorrow and then EVO rear D-rings tomorrow as well. SitrizzyChris your write up was good and looked at it several time.

EVO bumper, stinger and winch installation part two

Well I got the bumper all on and torqued down to 80 ft.pds and sure enough another issue arises. Well the bolt that ties the stinger onto the bumper closest to the front, the frame mounts decided to be right in the way. So I once again had to take apart the whole bumper off of the Jeep. I then started to put on my winch rollers which are gray but after looking at it I decided against gray. Spray painted with a etching base paint then spay painted them flat black. The rollers came out really good against the black EVO setup. The electric sway bar is a good 1/1.5 inch below the front bumper with how I flipped it. The sway bar was really close to the bumper but made it with flying colors. I want to make a HUGE SHOUT OUT TO LEE. I installed the security lock for the front hood which Lee gave me a good 2 months ago. Everything is installed and ready for some play. The winch is ready for use if needed. Adding another shout out to my wife for helping me with this installation. LOVE YOU BABE.

Let me know if you want a spare cable for your winch, I went to synthetic shortly after I bought mine. It's still new, just sitting here collecting dust and getting in my way. It's yours if you want it.

Looks really good. Great job.

Now that I think about it, I also have an extra fairlead and a Daystar fairlead/cable isolator you can have.
