Jeep Pausing Wrangler Production

LOL - I'm all about improvements, love the ones that I have and totally understand that they come at a price. What I'm not all about is the fact that what you get today is the ONLY option available and not shocked in the least that Jeep is hurting because of it.
Oh. Fully agree.

However that’s not just a Jeep problem. Every manufacturer is doing that shit anymore. “In order to make X change you need X “package” would you like to select these changes”.

It all sucks. “They” want us all driving high voltage dildos snacking on dehydrated beetles. Gone are the days of actual car enthusiasts. People order cars from a smart phone app and get it delivered to their living pod complex. Us car guys are the last of the Mohicans

Yup, it all sucks :(

I should note that there was a time, back when Fiat was still running the show, there was a new model that Jeep was kicking around that would have made a lot of us happy. I was supposed to be a stripped down 2-door vehicle with coilovers and something that would compete with side by sides sales. Obviously, it never happened and it's a shame.

Haven’t seen too much of that from a dealership. Typically, I’ve seen much higher. Just did this quick search locally and as you can see, it’s just for a 2-door.

Sadly, most people who want to wheel will end up buying a side by side.

For whatever reason I can’t quote @TrailHunter but, that’s what I see too. We thought about trading in ours for a truck as a truck would be super helpful right now but the market for these things tanked big time. We will just stick it out with a trailer for now.

Elizabeth Warren Mohicans or the movie Mohicans?

For sure... that 30-35k number though is from a dealer that can finance... Rubicon V6... Just what I've seen. Haven't looked at private sales. I would assume people with Cash on hand could get some great deals on both JK's & JL's in private sales. Really sucks we even have to have this conversation... We were all so pumped when the JL's came out... I don't think that level of excitement will happen again.
The best new thing about the JL is the 8 speed auto, which will now have more constrained availability in 2025.

All of these good reasons for the JK platform is why we jumped on a 2017 75th Anniversary Sahara last Fall. 20k miles and garage kept. Now it is garage kept in our place. A Rubicon would have been nice but not necessary for this mall crawler. It has the metal bumpers and thats all we really needed.

Personally I think you are doing it right. A 4x8 utility trailer is a very functional tool. You can beat the crap out of it on saturday loading a bunch of yard waste or lumber... and then go wheeling with the jeep you did not trade in, on sunday. Not to mention trailers are a lot easier to load. Storage on the other hand...

I have a couple trailers and plenty of space to store them.

I think one thing Jeepers need to remember is that the government is behind much of the price increases due to their CAFE standards which started back in 1975. Jeeps as well as many other cars could do without such nonsense. All it does is add expense and for no other purpose than to pad pockets. If Jeep did not comply, the government would assess them to the tune of billions of dollars for no reason. The whole Environmental movement was brought on by communist infiltration within this country to affect our manufacturing and GDP. Remember what happened to the "Big 3"? I remember reading in Wards Automotive a month or so before, that Chrysler did not have to worry about bankruptcy like Ford and GM as they had billions in the bank. Next thing I knew, Chrysler was declaring bankruptcy and closing dealerships. However, the only dealerships to close were owned by Republicans. Look at the history. Now Stellantis has funneled money from Jeep to cover shortages overseas and bolster other divisions. Its all about the money, not like it used to be where CEO'S were concerned more with the long growth of the company.

I care about the environment but am not a communist.

What are the sources for the various claims made in your post?

A lot of the environmental movement is indeed communist. Give up your rights for the environment is pretty standard lingo from the elites.
"If you look at what the Nazis were doing in the 1930s, in their environmental policies, virtually every theme you see in the modern environmental movement, the Nazis were doing," said Rupert Darwall, author of "Green Tyranny,"
