Dash Electronics FLIPPING OUT on Our Jeep Gladiator

Okay, in my ongoing pursuit to figure out the electrical gremlins that we've been seeing, I ordered up a new center stack to replace the original factory one.

Old one coming out.

After an initial test drive, things seem to okay but then, for the most part, they were even before the swap.

That said, so far, I haven't seen any more Blind Spot Unavailable errors but that doesn't really mean anything as again, even before, it could take a bit for it to kick off.

One thing that has changed is that now, the right rear tail light is always showing as being out and from the moment I turn on the engine. And to be clear, by out, I mean there is no brake light or turn signal. The halo still comes on, reverse still works and even the brake/turn light blinks every now and then but just for a couple of flashes.

Weirdest stupid thing and for the life of me, I just don't know how to solve that one. I'd be so happy if I could just replace the bulb but there's clearly something more going on here and I have a feeling it involves the computer

think the bulbs have a loose filament? or are they LED?

Oh, and I keep getting this stupid screen at startup - SUBSCRIPTION UPDATING
I get this message, but not at every startup. The message seemed to appear after I changed my mind and uncanceled the Guardian Uconnect security plan that I had just cancelled. But remote stop/start and vehicle location are working.

Sirius XM did away with the Traffic and weather portion, had the same crap on my 2018.
Log into your Sirius XM account and send a "Refresh My Radio" to that subscription, you may have to call Sirius and have them do it if you have multiple accounts.
Yeah, I've done that. No change.

So frustrating. Just keep thinking abut how rewarding it's going to feel when you find the problem after all this headache haha

I can't find any definitive answers online but, are the Blind Spot sensors associated and/or work off of the back up sensors? If so, it feels like all of the issues are related to the rear. Knowing how much wiring has to get moved and rerouted, especially moving the gas tank and your suspension, I have to think something in the rear wiring would be the issue. Just spit balling because you have dam near done everything.

It’s seems like the issue always turns out to be the last thing that you modified or worked on! 🤣😂

I would have to agree with this Jeremy. The blind spots are built into the tail lights. With that being said a wire back in that area could have rubbed thru slightly grounding out

I've given things as good of a look as I could and there's definitely places where things could be wrong. Unfortunately, I've not been able to find anything obvious and being that everything is wrapped, it may be harder to track down.

One thing I did and may need to do again is to swap the tail light from my new Gladiator into this one. When I did, nothing changed but then, I never took it for a test drive like I should have. Planning on doing that today and with the hopes that it just takes a bit of time for things to clear up like so many other things on these newer Jeeps.

Is it possible for the actual connector to be malfunctioning or bad that the rear light plugs into ?
Anything is possible. Hoping to try a few more things.

LOL - you are right on that and I've been giving it a lot of thought. Last thing I did was months ago and it was to replace both batteries and that's why I've been spending so much time looking around up front 🤪

I would have taken the piece of shit to the dealer by now. Back when I was building police cars I had an issue with the rear air conditioning, I spent hours and hours trying to figure it out, they found it in a couple hours. I think it was $300 or less.

It turned out the wiring diagram we used was out of date, it was literally one wire causing the issues.
