Hinrichs build

Light bar came today, prolly gonna just weld on some metal to the evo offset mount since I'll Never really use it for how it mounts lights. Trying to buy the trailjeeps one but they are hard to get a hold of right now since they are moving or something. Also the harness works flawlessly with my stock fog wiring which is what I wanted.

Did you mean plug and play? Meaning no rewiring whatsoever?

Yeah instead of a normal switch it plugs right into the stock wiring which is nice. It's basically a custom harness that I'm going to shorten a lot but it works as is. I will post up a lot more pics tonight when I go to mount it.

Awesome! Good to know for my future led light bar install

Also some pics of the mount I made quickly untill
I can get the trail jeeps or weld some tabs onto the stinger. It's a very tight fit and needs to be taken off to set the angle which I am waiting till it's dark to do again.

That looks really good! And you wrote that you just tapped into the stock fog harness correct? I am looking at doing this same set up after seeing yours :thumb:

Edit: I re-read through the post and saw the connector for the harness ;)

Do they flicker for about 15 seconds when turned OFF? That's what happened when I tapped the OEM harness on Meanst's jeep. I had to add a relay to the mix.

It's actually a custom relayed normal harness that plugs Into the fog wiring instead of a normal switch you'd run into the cabin basically

Got it. I basically did the same thing but didn't use a plug. The factory fog switch triggers the relay which sends power to the lights.

rockstar rear skids ordered, hope to get them on this week if they show up. Was going to do a tire rotation till I realized my roommate had most of the tools I needed. Need an inspection next month anyway and will be throwing the stock tires on for that (just incase) so ill do the full rotation after that. Was going to do the rocklights as well but still need to figure out a location for a switch...since i still never mounted the one I have for my windsheild lights. May just get a spod but would rather have other things like gears and a cage.

I don't always wheel , but when I do I keep it tight......... Stay dirty my friends.

so out of boredom...and a free gti shell...I had this idea the other day. Why not make a vw gti rock crawler? thinking it should be kind of easy in a way. Thinking I can drop the body onto a tj frame or something very similar and start a crawler build. The crappy mock up lol.
