Hinrichs build

gearing is something im still undecided on. I think I just need to drive someones that has 37s and the same motor and all with the right gears to decide.

Yea that would be a good idea. feel it out before you spend the money. i may need to do the same.

thats a great potential project!!!

yeah itll be a big change from all the vws ive owned over the years....i think i had about 16 or more of them actually.

you have the 3.6 don't you? I have heard a couple tiems that they handle just fine with 37's and 4.10's. If you are about done with your build then maybe spend the money but if you have other things you want, maybe just wait it out.

yeah its really not too bad at all, i drive it daily and dont mind it. My only real highway is a few min to work and back. Going down to the beach the other week i was getting around 18mpg on the highway so im not complaining at all. Worst part is the only large hill going to rausch creek since I usually stay in about 3rd gear to keep it at 50 which is the speed limit

We could put your tires on my rig and we can give it a try. I just put 4.88s in. Just don't be surprised if I test it all the way to Maryland :)

I will be putting 37s maybe by the end of the year, maybe sooner ...

exhaust/crossmember skid finally on...such a pita to install, outer bolt holes didnt line up at all, even after enlarging the hole it wasnt enough. They are in, but I am not happy with it.

nothing exciting, but did order a 21" light bar from inspired-engineering. Should work off my stock fog wiring with a custom harness. Also got some rock lights free and more for a good deal so Ill have a lot of lights to install in about a 2 weeks or so. Hopefully getting my driveshaft done this week with help from a friend or ill be going at it alone at home. Friend has a lift so Id rather wait till he can help.

Now that's a nice ride!

thanks man, i doubt it daily and think i shouldnt have bought it, hopefully in the end ill be happy with it once its running better and modded to how i want it. Shooting for something like this.

I just keep thinking bolt on coils would have been a better choice than the extra car lol.

i love the look of the T-Bird. maybe you can work on it and getting it running at least then resell it for a little bit more money then what you paid for it. just do a simple flip

I feel like i will love it once its done, since it is fun now. Main thing is the headers which I dont think ill be able to install by myself sadly.
