French owned, Portuguese driven, Stellantis is killing Jeep etc...

Soooo, a few later and the French have once again blown a US car company to smithereens: Jeep and C° are slowly dying (again) sacrificed on the altar of marketing, high prices, low quality, low maintenance quality, bad management descisions. What is your take on it? I'd be curious to know, having lived the short lived AMC-Renault flop from the inside (it was a prequel!!).
Not only Stellantis.

Not disagreeing with you but in that autoblog article it says towards the end of the article the reason GM is in better shape is because they’ve rolled out electric cars and they are seeing phenomenal growth in the electric market yoy. What they fail to mention is the restyled GM small SUV’s sales which are very high year over year. Everywhere I look there’s a small SUV and GMs is the big seller this year. Jeep is counting on their electric small SUV which imo is ugly. Stellantis put their eggs in the Dodge insect and the non selling Alfa toe nail. Which even if I was going to buy I wouldn’t because it has a pathetic name. They are strangling Jeep with a compass which is dated.
Feeling like the crate engine market is going to flourish because there will be many that will keep what they have as opposed to buying some of the new crap coming out.

Lol no they aren’t. I worked at a Chevy dealer for a while and the lot was CLOGGED with EVs. Bolts, Blazer EVs, all Silverado EV reservations were canceled by the people who initially ordered them… EVs and even plug in hybrids for that matter don’t sell period, any brand - and I’m in San Diego, California, where they should be booming if anywhere.

I agree that Jeep is struggling to offer an affordable SUV, they simply don’t, and that small SUVs/crossovers are a strong market right now. The Compass is a piece of crap honestly and is still $27k to $40k. The Cherokee was a good bridge between that and the Grand Cherokee, and canceling it and replacing it with a $70k+ EV (Fagoneer S) ain’t gonna do Jeep any good. Plus we’ve had all our Hornets on the lot for over a year and have sold 1. Not exaggerating. 1. In the last year. They’re all sitting at our storage lot dirty as hell and with dead batteries.

Agree with you 100 percent. Look at the article I posted about Nissan. Again they offer no hybrid and their small SUV is dated. The decision to go plug in hybrid on the Wrangler and now Gladiator and the Hornet is just plain dumb but the automakers hands are pretty tied with government mileage regulations. That still doesn’t excuse Stellantis for not updating the Jeep small SUV. The Hornet looks like a rebadged Compass with some slight styling updates. It’s no wonder it’s not selling it looks dated. It’s to bad because it is probably a decent vehicle.

I went to a local dealership this weekend and they were on my like flies on shit lol, I swear I saw some of them drooling thinking I would trade in my 2018 for a 2024 Rubicon, they had a large inventory to choose from and were touting $3000 incentive or Zero interest but... not a single 2024 Rubicon on the lot under $65000!!!
The 392's were over $105,000 ... they are DOA, I felt like I was the only one on the lot that wasn't a salesperson.

You probably were the only one that wasn’t a salesman. Is the inventory mostly pink? Local dealer here has mostly pink Gladiators. WTF? It’s rednecks and farmers mostly and they ordered a shit ton of pink trucks? 10 k markup on the 392. Part of Stellantis problem is the crappy dealers I think.

Hooray for EVs!!! And have “faith in Kamala” 👍🏻🇺🇸
Gahhhh World Socialist Website🤷‍♂️ cognitive dissonance is an amazing thing. They are going to protest layoffs that are occurring as a direct result of their socialist policies just wow.

Its HARD not to hate Stellantis. It's amazing to me a huge company can be so STUPID. They should have figured out months ago their CEO (Tavares) needs TO GO. AS long as they own Jeep - I will NEVER, EVER buy another Jeep again. I think they are holding out because out of all the brands they have, JEEP is the one with the most value. I'm hoping they file BK and end up selling JEEP. I hope their entire board gets fired and F*ck the stockholders for allowing Tavares to remain in control of a clearly sinking ship. The ship has been sinking for at least 6+ months- enough time for anyone with common sense to "get out". I have a big feeling that wealthy Americans will form a company and buy Jeep from Stellantis at some point in the future. For gods sake, they tried to save Chrysler, which I think is a waste because they only have 1 vehicle.
