I’ve spent many an hour on the beaches of Hawaii sitting next to my surf rod…we called it “drinking beer”…

Cruising Bainbridge Island, decided to stop by Sage (they are unfortunately closed to the public now)…I own a few of their rods…

Beautiful river…much lower than last year. Fish were also mu smaller and more finicky…caught plenty, but couldn’t get a fish bigger than 17” in the net…mostly cut-bows…

So…last minute change in plans. Originally, we were heading to WY and fish the Green above Flaming Gorge, and work our way south thru Utah…but a major cold front is heading there in a week and it will be nasty…in the lows in the teens, snow & sleet. I’m now driving down to Redding to meet my buddy and fish one day ion the upper Sacramento, then float two days below the dam on the lower Sac… spend two days fishing the Fall River, then head to Lassen Nat’l Park and fish a couple days in Manzanita Lake with our kick boats…looking forward to some fishing, camping and general debauchery…

Locked and loaded…change of plans fishing the Green in northern UT and above Flaming Gorge in WY due to weather…heading down to Norcal to meet my buddy in Redding to fish the upper & lower Sac, Fall River and whatever we feel is fishing well. Stealth Pro pontoon, camping &’fishing gear…even a heater that Ives never used…
