EVO Tire Carrier Rattle

Let’s leave it at that… Sipafz provided exactly what I was looking for and his response is much appreciated. I think this DOUBLE-END CLAMP STRAPS could be a winner here. I will give it a try. Thanks Sipafz!

you helped.. you were simply a helper... I have installed the entire application end to end... Well i had a helper too - my son... he was passing me all the tolls and he helped a lot. just like I am sure you did!!!

Based on this thread:

http://wayalife.com/showthread.php?...-8-Step-Guide-to-getting-booted-from-Wayalife

You have successfully completed Steps 3, 4 and 7. You are well on your way in completing Step 6. Keep up the great work sir and you will be successful. Good luck!!

I picked a bad day to give up drinking....

Congrats!

In two posts you have downgraded yourself from “I have installed the EVO corners, the tire carrier, and the brackets ” to new statement: “No, I don't, but I did help install the corners, the brackets, and the carrier” …
How exactly did you help???

Holy fuck your dumb.

Actually - when misaligned it’s not the easiest to pull and insert these pins making me almost don’t want to open the tail gate.. I know you “Chuck Norris” generation can pull these pins with your nails… Again, I was looking for OTHER OPTIONS

Go try to pull the pins on a hand grenade and see if they work better for you.

But you said you'd already found something to use, so why the fuck are you'd still here?

Cause he's fn stupid.

There is no possible way those clamps will be able to add enough tension the bend two pieces of steel. You will STILL need to do what Piginajeep first suggested. The clamps will be irrelevant at that point and you can simply use the original pins or the one from harbor freight.

The supplied by EVO pin is 1/2 inch in diameter and goes into 9/16 opening. Now if Johnny Joints and brackets are aligned properly – we can use any kind of 9/16 pin in diameter and 4 inch long and that alone will eliminate lots of movement and rattling. Any of the 9/16 inch in diameter pins below will work, the third one offers additional quick release mechanism:

Now that we know we can use slightly larger pin in diameter (9/16 vs 1/2) we can think of extra step with clamping power such the one we discussed for many pages now…

Also to eliminate applying grease for squeaking noise, we can use the bottle cap as a washer (Found it on another forum supposedly advised by someone from EVO team):

So all of you idiots out there go ahead and misalign joints as a solution…

Jesus H......you seem to be the only person on the planet that has issues with this carrier. That alone should tell you that YOU are the retard.

It's sad that this thread is still going. Life must be pretty good to have a "problem" like this and be able to devote this much energy to it.
