EMMA in all her ELEGANCE - TOTAL MAKEOVER of a 1969 Jeepster Commando

The grill and dash were a bitch and I totally trashed a couple of my buffing pads but I think they came out pretty good.

Nice work! As with any Jeep one thing ALWAYS leads to another. I look forward to seeing your future progress on this project.

LOL!! It ain't easy especially being that we like to get out and go wheeling so much but fortunately, I really enjoy working on old iron. In fact, once I get going, it's hard for me to stop.

Oh man, body work can be a bitch for sure. Unlike installing parts or working on an engine, you can know how to do everything but being able to make your hands do everything right is a different story altogether.

If it weren't fun, it wouldn't be worth doing. It's hard for me to imagine that people do this for a living.

Thanks, it was a ton of work for sure but a lot of fun

Well, we're trying. I'd be lying if I said the work we've done is perfect - far from it really but the only way to learn is by doing and the only way to get better is to keep doing it. :yup:

So far, I've been really impressed with all the Summit brand products. I decided to go with them to save some money but man, I've found them to work just as well as the expensive stuff.

You probably have more experience that I do when it comes to bedliner, but the DIY stuff I've seen people use including big brands like herculiner and such have all been pretty crappy when compared to Line X. I just had my rear bumper coated in Line X and that stuff is incredibly tough. Disclaimer, all the stuff I've seen for DIY use was roll on or spray can, I have no experience with DIY spray with the special gun and the two part chemical.

👍 looks awesome!

Paint looks pretty!!

Man fantastic job. Looks awesome!!!

Thanks guys! I just hope I can keep it that way across the whole Jeep

Oh yeah, just the nature of the beast but really, I've been needing to do this for a long time :yup:

Rolling on, brushing on or even spray on with an aerosol can simply can't compare to having it sprayed on with a compressor. If my only choice was to use one of the other methods, I would probably not bed line or have a shop do it.

Today, Brown Santa delivered a big box of new gaskets, seals, weather strips and miscellaneous hardware to help freshen up Emma as I put her back together again.

Mmmmm fresh parts!

Get all of them from omi?

Actually, none of these came from Omix-ADA. There's a guy who specializes in selling Jeepster Commando reproduction parts and I found a lot of this stuff from him. If anything, some of stuff is made by Crown.

👌 I'm sure we're all hoping this means a video coming soon right! LOL

Unfortunately, there will not be a video on this project as I was pushing hard to get it done before the end of summer. Filming always makes everything take 4X longer and I just didn't have that kind of time to spare. Sorry. The next project we'll film for sure.

Oh no worries at all. Believe me I understand. I Can Only Imagine while working the filming takes so much time...not counting all the editing and proofing you guys have to do on the videos alone. Looking forward to the next video whatever it may be 👍

I appreciate your understanding. We really wanted to film this one but in a lot of ways, I'm glad that we didn't. In a crazy way, it made working on Emma so much more fun.
