Edelbrock Supercharger Dyno

I fixed it for you. Honestly, this thread is tiresome. No matter how many times people try to make the argument, I will never understand why supercharging a 3.8 or 3.6 is worth it. Maybe it's just a matter of personal opinion, but I can't stand the way sc's sound on the trail and trying to force more performance out of these motors just seems like squeezing a zit. Sure, you can squeeze it and make it look bigger but sooner or later it's going to pop.

Why do people put an LS or Hemi's in their jeeps? There is away going to be people looking to seek out for more HP.

How do you know this? Has Edelbrock built a system for the JK before? isn't your post based on the fact that the systems UNTIL NOW have problems? Aren't most of the supercharger systems out there RIPP systems? Add the "newish" magnussen system with the known shifting problem and yes, its not a good track record. MAYBE (or even likely) the 3.6 may suffer some longevity problems with a blower in place. However, as there aren't large numbers out there with any significant trail time we can't know how this product...a NEW PRODUCT performs out of anecdotal observations about OLD PRODUCTS. There are a shit ton of other applications running around that have aftermarket FI systems that are tremendously reliable. Not saying I would or would not buy one for the 3.6 but at least its interesting and somewhat promising.

BTW, no one was ever saying a V8 was similar to a Supercharger. Theres just the "costs too much for 75 hp crowd" and the "its gonna blow up for sure" crowd shit talking about something that may or may not suck.

Usually it is to turn 40's effectively without over-stressing an underpowered motor by squeezing it like a zit or making it so unreliable that you can't trust it on a multi-day trip in the backcountry. I never said I was against more HP, just that I've never seen a SC as viable means to that end.

How do I know what? That I don't like the sound of the superchargers I have heard off road? Well, my ears work and I listen. You cannot honestly believe that a supercharged motor (pick your motor, pick your supercharger) is going to be more reliable than a non-supercharged motor.

No, you're right, I don't believe that. It will NEVER be as reliable, nor will it have the same life span. Question is how much less reliable and how much shorter of a life span?

I'm with you. SC isn't for me, but the cheeky comments make me laugh. So carry on all.

Are you putting one of these on? Or just stirring up the pot?

I'm not sold on this system for many of the same concerns others have expressed. I haven't ruled it out as info find it interesting and somewhat promising. Still leaning towards a swap but my fiancée has been pushing for a pool in the backyard so the lower prices options are looking more enticing

The lower priced option would be to ditch the fiancée and forget the pool and get the supercharger! Just kidding..... Or maybe not if that appeals to you. Anyhow I got sidetracked, does the system work with the '15 model year? I ask because of the rolling firewall in the ECU and the inability to program them after the mod.

Get the pool. My 2 cents.

No pools suck... they're a money pit and to maintain a really good clean pool is a pita.
