Coming up to Speed With Grubbicon

I have seen a common theme lately about people not liking the orange lens.

Yes sir. They just don't seem to look as good to me. Every other car on the road has the orange turn signals. I want something different that not many people have, just like the color of my Jeep (gecko green).

I think it's due the the 14-15 JKs coming factory with clear haha. They look so damn good not yellow

Yeah your probably right. Im not so sure that its all 14-15 though. I thought it was only certain color ones but I could be wrong with that.

Figured Id through up some pictures of our wheeling trip today to Choccolocco Mountain over in Alabama. Managed to get away with only a broke breather line on the rear axle. Still not sure how I managed that one.

Here are some pictures from Hells Revenge.

Here is one of Brian Hutchens giving his TJ on 42s hell. (Sorry for the tree)

Next are some pictures from Boat Ramp. Only one guy was able to make the slab. Had to winch up it after slipping around for about 20 minutes.

These are the majority of the pictures from today.

Alright well as most know my Jeep is still on the D44s and I keep saying im gonna grenade them before I put a set of tons under it. Well it looks like those tons might come before I grenade them. Last Thursday I went to the junk yard looking for a shifter boot for my Toyota but happened to stumble upon a 14bolt sitting in a 3500 GMC work truck. Friday I decided I had to go back and get it. Took my brother and started to pull it out.

After we got it all unbolted and sitting on the ground we realized we had nothing to cut the parking break lines with so we decided to go home and come back today (Sunday). We cut the lines and then drug it out from underneath the truck.

They came and got it with the forklift and put it on the trailer for me.

So the plan for this axle is to clean it up and go through it to see whats gonna stay and whats going to be replaced. Ill most likely stick with stock shafts. Im going to run a 5.38 gear since I cant go any lower and I will more then likely just weld it up for the locker. I will also be doing a disk brake conversion on it.

I scored a 1980 Chevy one ton that ran and drove for $500 from a farmer a few years back. Ran and drove but didn't have a straight body panel on it. I pulled the motor and sold to a friend for $250. Junked the cab, flat bed, and other pieces that were junk and made almost $400. Kept the front 60, 465 tranny, and 205 case. The 60 needs rebuilt of course but I have no money in it right now. Most junk yards around me want $1k for a 60 in unknown condition.

Keep your eyes open for vehicles setting in the weeds around you. You might luck out and find something good.

I see you took my advice bud lol. Congrats on the new axle! Hope the install isn't too much of a headache for you!

Thanks man. When I found the price I had to take it since I was considering one in my Jeep or Toyota. The plan as of now is to put it in the Jeep unless I come up on a set of matching axles out of a Super Duty. If I do happen to find the set I will put it in the Toyota considering I already have the matching passenger drop D60 for it.

Sounds like you got a damn good deal on that one. At the junk yard i got this rear at they just charge $118 for all complete rear ends and then $200 for a complete front. So im hoping if I keep an eye out over there ill kinda a front D60.

Nothing major happened today but I did run my Jeep over a CAT Scale today and it came out at 5300lbs. That is with no doors and just bikini top with no gear and no one in it.
