After installing and driving the Accutune setup with the Fox 2.5 DSC, I can say for certain that is the best setup I’ve driven on a JK. That’s my opinion though. 2.0 coilovers are fine but if your Jeep is heavy then you’re most likely going to end up changing most of the springs out on a bolt on kit. I think on the last JKU we had on the shop with an EVO kit we ended up changing 6 out 8 springs to get the ride height and preload where it needed to be. Does that mean the EVO bolt on kit is bad? No. For most people it’s going to be just fine, but you need to look at your Jeep and it’s weight carefully before you pull the trigger on a bolt on kit and that’s exactly what you’re doing now.

Thanks Bubba. What about doing an Accutune kit with the Fox set-up that is tuned with springs around a 2.0 CO? This would obviously be a full weld-in kit but using the 2.0.

This is consistent with what I’ve heard from a few friends with the bolt on evo set up. A fair amount of tinkering and coil swapping was required to get it set up. For some that could be a negative, for others a plus.

Driven a lot of the King 2.0 coilover builds and they’re fine so I would imagine a Fox 2.0 would be just as good.

For most JK owners it’s fine out of the box, but as the Jeep gets heavier (and it doesn’t take much) then the tune that’s on them goes out the window. Anything more than 1” of preload and I feel like you really should start looking at spring rate changes.

Just simply looking at pictures of the Accutune and Synergy brackets they look very similar in design and install, but are they?

Hey buddy im good, just languishing in quarantine. Hope you're doing well. Yea im in the 40s club, with some other goodies:rock:

Well, first off, I hope you’re ok. Did you get it flying? Are you doing better?

Secondly, unbelievable! You’ve been busy! Now I see where Jeff’s been getting all of his dreams from! Is that a Genright kit or full custom? Absolutely insane! Fury’s living up to its name for sure!

Is that a kit or a full custom 4 link? Gas tank relocated?

The Accutune set up looks nice. Those weld in brackets take care of my issue with bolt in coil overs using the stock shock brackets which are weak and never designed to hold the weight of the JK.

That's quite the tank you have👍👍👍

Looking good.

So, am I correct in thinking that if you use too much preload that you are using up the travel of the softer spring, which will impact what it has left to give you the soft ride over the road and small bumps?

I belive the rear evo kit has additional rear brackets that tie into the frame and coil bucket for extra strength.

Sorry, i dont have it, just meant stuck at home like everyone else lol. Secondly thank you, im super happy with it and am dying to get out. Its basically the genright kit but customized for my dynatracs. All the mounts and crossmembers are genright, with a 3 link in the front. 14" coilovers through the tub in the rear, 12"s up front:rock::rock::rock:
