Chill Out - It's "our" forum

I couldn't agree more with the OP.... I am new here and love the way this group is close knit and helpful.... don't let this change for any reason!

Also... I happen to run one of the largest clubs in the Southeast and have done my best to hold to the NO BASHING/DRAMA rules to the point where several other clubs/forums have spun off from ours and started their own.... so they could call each other names without someone censoring them.

To be honest with you I am fine with that and love that you guys have such a friendly place here.

I signed up on this forum awhile back but only recently been visiting on a regular basis. I'm as quiet in real life as I am in the forums but I do speak up from time to time. I've been enjoying the camaraderie here and look forward getting to know some of you.

Me too. Havent been here long, but I havent visited my other forums much.. Its just a much friendlier environment here. Aside from the occasional outburst or spat of opinions, Im pretty content here. I see some of the same Topics and people bleeding over which is fine with me. I bet WAL is the same hideout for them as it is for me.

Paratroopers stay up longer!

I'm a pretty new member (check out the post count). This place is so much more user friendly than every other jeep forum. Close knit. Thanks for harboring a great attitude here and keeping the jeeper's spirit alive. :thumb:

For all of that have posted agreeing with this thread, thanks. I thinks it's awesome to have this many people with the same attitudes.

The forum will continue to grow and hopefully with the same attitudes as we've all shared, just more of us!

This forum is my escape from the drone, stress and politics of everyday life. I've met a lot of great people, some in person an others only through WAL. I'd just like to keep it as my escape and hopefully everyone else's escape too.

Right on Brother!

I think this thread needed to be revived. Ive been part of this forum for a bit now. Granted, not as long as some, but long enough to see that there are some members here that seem to be constantly on edge or are way to high strung. Im not pointing any fingers. Im just saying we are all here for the same things. At least for me, I joined because I heard it was a chill forum, I knew there was going to be good solid information based on who created the forum, this was a no bs, thread count doesnt matter type of forum, and a great place to possibly make some new Jeep friends. Lately I have bumped into few people that are just way to high strung and intense. Like OP said, this is our forum. The bs is not on here, if you were here a couple weeks ago you would have seen how bs gets handled here. Thats why Im still here, it lasted less than 8hrs. If someone asks questions, dont jump their case. Maybe they have no Jeep experience/knowledge what so ever and should not be talked to as if they are inferior to anyone else here. Maybe certain other questions are being asked out of shear curiosity. Either way, this is our forum. Relax a little, give your 2 cents without worrying about critizism, and try to meet some new people. There are some really awesome people on here, give them a chance because you never know who you might meet next...

If you can't walk my beat unarmed, maybe you should consider becoming a police officer.

Well said!!:yup:

Fortunately it's only a small percentage that join and act foolishly. I noticed the small BS that comes does happen with giveaways. Some people join to enter, stick around and will sometimes spread some none sense. Luckily I will say it is short lived. Trust me I feel your pain, but like you said I have trust in WOL and the moderators to regulate this stuff.

I've been slaking on my reading material and missed the hate crimes, lucky for them because as you can see my post count I just about know it all:cheesy: I think if all the regulars even the non moderators keep those few in check we will all be fine. :drinks:

I love this forum. It definitely has much more of a family vibe than any of the other forums I frequent.

Though, I must admit, I sometimes get overcome with envy over the life Eddie has created for himself. I'd give anything to turn my obsession, I mean hobby, into a lucrative career! Quite an inspiration!

Lol, i only envy his toys. Can you imagine how busy Eddie must be. He is essentially running a business. I dont envy what he must have to go through..lol.. Keeping up with all the new crap comin out, stopping to chat in here, takin care of his fam. I could list more, but Im already pooped..lol.. But yes I am very happy I could be part of this forum and this way of life... Life is good!

I don't want to re-post this in about 5 or so current threads, but I would like to tell some newer forum members to just chill out. This is our forum, and some people are coming in and just think they own the place. If you have first hand knowledge on a topic, provide it. If you are here to be a pit bull at the junk yard, this scene aint for you.

Take the time to get to know people on the forum, be positive, thoughtful, considerate and no hate. You know, like adults. So if you come in and start with guns blasting, you're going to get blasted back. I came over to WAL to get away from the school-yard-chest-puffing taking place in a few other places, so just chill out or you will get called out. And if you don't like it, then you don't need to join or be part of it. I think I can speak for most of us here in that we won't miss you.

But if your cool, be cool and we'll explore the Wayalife together.

This is why I join this forum. And also because I'm a noob.

Well said JAGS. Unfortunately with more and more members comes more and more knuckle heads.:grayno:

And this is also why I'm bringing this thread back to life. For the noobs like me.

This thread makes me laugh.... Still. Although the intentions are good and I get the concept of the "our" concept; it really ISN'T our forum it's Eddie and Cindy's forum and we are all guests.

I started to see it too much and feel bad for the "person" getting targeted for what appears to be no reason. More so just got sick of having to filter through the trolls. I'm cool with confrontation and disagreement, but stay classy about it. And at the end of the day, you can always leave.

It's just as much our forum, so wanted to show support for the organizer as well as fellow jeepers here. We can all help keep this for what it was intended to be. A community.

You're a good guy Jason and this is how I feel!

I just realized this was a really old thread haha still though...

Yes, obviously not "ours" in a literal sense and funny how things never change. Still lots of :asshat:s . Though we are much better at modding it ourselves and calling people out. I think that was more my point.

Ha ha. Thanks Joshua!

I'm in.

Couldn't agree with Jags more. I've been on several other forums since about 2009 and have seen the nonsense first hand. There is a different vibe here and that is why I have pretty much stopped posting on other forums. I wish I had more time to invest in chatting with the family at WAL but even though I may only drop in once a month every time I post I am greeted with friendly respect. I'll do my part to keep that going by dealing with others respectfully AND bringing in newbies to WAL who will treat others respectfully.
But someone mentioned bacon... Mmmmmmm
