I’m running the PR 60’s with the stock booster and M/C only running 37’s but the brakes work fine .
Makes sense and it's only a few hundred bucks.I’m not taking chances with 40s. I’ve been in a couple high angle drops that even with the bigger booster, it barely held the Jeep. Not a good feeling.

I can get my hands on some KMCs for a decent discount and no tax and the ones I like are 4.75 backspacing. Is 4.75 gonna give me issues? I was under the impression that since the PR axles are wider I could run more backspacing?
I don’t think so. Regardless you are going to need to clearance some fender lines. Adjust your steering stops and you should be fine.

What is the width of the Dynatrac axles you’re looking at?
I read somewhere you could get custom widths, but maybe that’s just the higher end XDs.

The standard PR60 package 68.5 I believe. I originally was just going to buy the same Method wheels I have just in 8 lug but they only come in 4.75 and the same for the KMC I like.

I have the 68.5 wide axle and run a 3.5 backspace on a 17x10 wheel.
With 40x13.50R17's I just barely miss hitting the frame at full lock/twist.
My total width to outside of tire is about 88".
Really, I'm at 79 and just barely fit through the trailer fenders on a 20 footer. I assume once you go 60 you need drive over fender or extra wide trailer?
Out of curiosity what wheels are you running? I really on see 17x8.5.

That should be fine for 37s but not fine for 40s. Unless you want to fiddle with your steering stops and have it steer like a battleship. Not sure which methods you’re looking at, but the MR105 comes in two models I believe, 4.75” BS or 3.5” BS. Plenty of people run 40s on the latter, but if you want the improved scrub radius you’ll want the additional backspacing and a wider axle. 72” for example.

On my 20' trailer I have drive over fenders. I also added two layers of 4x12's just to make it easier when the deck is slick. Totally doable with just the drive over fenders. You can also build wood ramps on the deck so you don't hit the fenders.
On my gooseneck it is a deck over so no issue there.
I have B.A.D. Wheels. They closed up shop right after I got them.
K, I'm just going to sick with 3.5 because once these 37s wear out I will step up to 40s. I don't want to do this again!
Should work fine. I know I have had zero issues with my setup.
Perfect...and 5.38 I assume? I'm gonna run the 37 Coppers for a while so hope the 5.38 gears is ok with the 37s.
Yup, 5:38's for the win. You'll be surprised how well it runs and accelerates. Until you get to the mountains. Woof.![]()
