Build of my JKU

Amazing! But some are just a mind fuck like The Chute. Personally the Chute is one of the easiest obstacles. The trail to the shoot is difficult. I couldn't get over the Wall of Doom and to it was sketchy. Personally I pick Sand Hollow over Moab any day.

So driving home on 2 bent flanges has me thinking. Is it worth my time and money to throw in a 35 spline ARB with new shafts or should I just get new 32 splines Revos or Tens?

The spline count won't help on the flange ends. That was my dilemma with my old SF60 rear. When you start doing obstacles like you are that pinch or concentrate the weight on the inside or outside of the tires, well, all I can say is you get good at changing axles in parking lots.

I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but this scenario is exactly why I went FF. Shit gets old.

Yeah I remember you saying that in Moab. So, then I guess I will just buy some 32 spline Revolutions or Ten Factory's and see how long they hold up before I jump to FF. I really don't want to throw money at the rear stock axle and after looking into the 35 spline ARB and axels are like $1500 and once I pay to get them installed its more like $2300 vs. a new set for 400-600. One dilemma is my PR44 is still pretty new and my understand of going with a rear FF means I need to figure out something different for the font.

Looks like a good time.

Too bad I couldn't join you this time. Maybe next time. We definitely need to get out soon.

We missed you man the whole group was asking about you.

Yeah Yeah we know LOL. Revolutions discount code is not working so I will call them tomorrow. They are local and if I need warranty repair I can drive down there. I'll give them a shot first before jumping to a FF. I need more time to figure out either keep the PR44 and get new 60 rear or sell the PR44 and rear stock axles and get a 60 package.

100%!

It is awesome!

I keep telling people but nobody believes me... LOL!!!

What trails did you do?

There are other options but there are a lot of 'ifs':
A FF rear can be had in either 5.5x5 or 8x6.5 lug patterns so you'll need new wheels regardless.
From there it depends on what you're ultimate ending point for you Jeep is gonna be.
If 37's are the end goal, the dreaded Teraflex makes a front lockout hub conversion kit in 5x5.5 or 8x6.5 so a FF PR60 could pair with your PR44 front. Spyntec makes them as well.
I looked into this for a long time but figured since I'm getting new wheels I'd just make the plunge and never have to worry about either axle again by going to the 60's front & rear..

Eddie also ran Rubicat with conversion spacers on their PR44 front so that's doable.

Now if you're answer is 40's, throw all of that out the window, hold your nose & make the plunge to 60's

Thanks for info on the conversion hubs and $1500 is not that bad. Do you know if adding those lockout hubs to the PR44 will give you the same width as the rear FF or would you need to add a spacer? Is the PR44 strong enough for 40's?

I keep telling myself 37's are just fine but the more I wheel the more I want to go to 40's. Just to be clear 60's are more then strong enough for 40's correct? I swear have see some product descriptions say maximum tire size is a 37 on 60's.

I guess the responsible thing to do is run out these 37's on a new set of Revolutions and see what happens. If I bend a Revolution then that will tell let me know its time for 60's.

Sounds like you're in the exact position I was last year this time. I had just bent ANOTHER flange and had enough but tried talking myself into staying on 37's and going the front conversion route. Maybe even sneaking a set of 40's on the PR44 & see how it does. I had several conversations with Bubba regarding this as well. In the end I quit trying to kid myself and just bit the bullet on the 60 route. I didn't want to be worried about trying to take it easy on that setup because it seems when you drive like that shit ends up breaking anyways or you're constantly getting stuck pussyfooting around. Screw that.

Not trying to spend your money for you, but if you're thinking 40's, just do it. I'd run those 37's on the revolution shafts until they're worn out & then jump up. :twocents:

PS: yes, I believe the hub conversions push the fronts out so that they'll be the same as or pretty close to the FF width.

Thank you Jerry, I appreciate you taking the time to remind me what you went through and I agree that I am in the same predicament you were in. I feel the PR44/60FF would just be a good but temporary band-aid for the 37's and I would need to revisit the front axle again when I decide to go to 40's. So thank you for actually helping me save money for the mean time.

Jerry, Jeff, and I all went thru this for months. After running the numbers 6 different ways, by the time to buy the rear FF, front hubs, and new wheels, there was a 3-5k difference in just biting the bullet and getting the FF front and rear and doing it right and being done whether it’s 37s or 40s. In the end, you are just wasting the money upfront if you don’t. Now knowing you and how you wheel, it makes a ton of sense going straight to the FF front and rear and don’t look back. That’s why we all ended up going down this path, and now that the UD60s have been reworked, that is a great competitive option to look at.

Thanks Bill, I do respect the insight from you guys and going to follow the same path. So, I just got off the phone with Revolution and they have a minimum 90-day back order WTF. Looks like its gonna be Ten Factory.

FWIW I have Ten Factory shafts front and rear and they’ve been great. Pretty surprised I haven’t bent a rear flange, TBH.

Maybe they will show up with your fenders.

Thank you good to know.

Edit: Unreal Nitro, Tens, and Revolution all back ordered per the manufacturer.
