I'm no radio geek but when I programmed my Baofeng a few years ago I seem to recall there were separate channels for transmit and receive. We'll find out. Maybe bring some FRS radios as a back up?

You shouldn't need to program it. Punch in the numbers. I think the programing is the race channels.

Your on B 479.975 lower # you can hit the AB button again and retype the # onto the upper line.

Yeah... From the little I've read so far, we should be good. The upper and lower gives you two channels to switch between on the fly with the A/B like you said.

Yeah I have. Its probably a bad ground although I have a stand alone ground wire. I'm not sure haven't had much time to mess with it nor much desire..haha. Can't get the SWR out of the red.
