BETTER STRONGER FASTER : Making Moby Great Again - MOTECH 6.2L L86 w/10-Speed

Glad you guys are liking what you see as much as we are! The whole GM strike really slowed things down for us and now, the who chinese bug thing is holding us up again. Apparently, there's one circuit board that's made over there and as you can guess, nothing is being shipped at this time. :rolleyes2:

I hear airfare is cheap right now
Fly over and pick it up

Hey Eddie... curious why you chose the GM route over using a Hemi. I have been researching the options. The hemi is able to use the stock ecm while the gm has to use aftermarket from my understanding.

The GM uses a factory ecm. It just needs a can bus translator (MoCan module) to make the gauges on the dash work. One of the biggest advantages of the GM engines is full aluminum engines, also a cheap aftermarket for parts or modifications is helpful in the long run.

Any news on this. I'm going to be working on the same setup in the near future.

Almost done. Just waiting on a circuit board that unfortunately is made in China. We could wrap things up without it but Cindy and I decided to just sit tight. In the mean time, Robbie was good enough to have our Atlas rebuilt and replace our blown out ball joints. So, it's all good.

What Bierpower said. The engine really isn't all that much heavier than the old 3.8L V6. Also, unlike a HEMI, there's tons of support for programming and tuning. Also, we have not seen the kind of overheating issues that most people with HEMIs have or, that I've seen anyway.

I wasn't sure if he was going to try to source that from somewhere else or just wait it out. I guess it's not a big deal since it'll be closer to the end of the year before I'm ready to do mine anyway.

What's the latest?...

And what's the latest on Jeep putting in a 392 into the JL/JT? possibly?...

It's just about there. Been waiting on a circuit board that's made in china and with all that's been going on, things have been put on hold. We could just go with the older system but I'd rather not if I can help it. Hoping to check on things in about a week.

Jeep teased this a while back with the Hercules concept. I'll believe it when I see it but then, I said the same about the diesel so, who knows.

Damn China! Holding moby up from being done! Glad it isn’t GM still being on backorder 🤪

Jeep teased this photo today if you haven’t seen it yet. Looks like it says 392 on the hood. Hope it’s true

I saw that pic and read the article on Motor1.com...apparently Jeep has solved the safety crash issues with a hemi in the engine bay...one can only hope...

I'm hoping to see Moby on the prowl (with a new growl) again soon...
