BETTER STRONGER FASTER : Making Moby Great Again - MOTECH 6.2L L86 w/10-Speed

I saw that pic and read the article on Motor1.com...apparently Jeep has solved the safety crash issues with a hemi in the engine bay...one can only hope...

I wonder what parts had to be compromised to make that work?

That said, I would love to see it.

Motect has totally changed things up for the LT and now, when all is said and done, everything looks factory. Super simple wiring setup. If we go the old route, we'll still need additional modules to make everything work.

I get that part, but on a factory basis to meet crash standards, something has to give. Aftermarket is not held to those same standards, so the question was if it's a factory option, what gets compromised to meet all the layers of government regulations?

Hopefully it's not things vital to being good off road. Look at the various JL problems due to lightening everything.

I wouldn’t hold your breath. More than likely just a ploy to gain some attention with the Broncos release Monday.

Sad, but you are probably right.

So, you think it's only a "look, a squirrel" moment?...FCA is putting a hemi in just about everything they sell, why not a Jeep?

Because they’ve known for years that people want it and didn’t produce it with the new platform from the beginning. Why would you completely design and new chassis, but not for the most sought after drivetrain? Then suddenly Ford is releasing the new Bronco and 2 days before that happens, Jeep posts their same EJS teaser photo from earlier this year with “#staytuned”? They’re taking advantage of Fords media blackout leading up to the official release tomorrow.

Now let’s say it is true. They’ve kept a lid on it this long? Ok they kept a lid on it. That means it’ll take them probably 3 years to get it on a dealer lot, if that. By the way, they’ve been trying to get a Ram 1500 Hellcat out for 5 years and that still hasn’t happened.

It’s probably some special edition that they’ll make maybe few hundred of so their favored dealers have something to put on the showroom floor to draw people in. I very much doubt it’ll be a volume product at a reasonable price that’s available to to masses.

If they could get a hemi into the wrangler and keep the costs 10-15k above the regular rubicon .. could be a huge win. As off-road segment soars in the US .. Chrysler is shifting attention and V8 allocation across their portfolio to compete .

Probably still niche but could be more than a few showroom Jeeps . This makes this way more economical than a crate swap

I’ve seen a number of JLs and JTs with big bulging hoods running around for awhile by FCAs headquarters all camo’d up. I have to believe it will happen. It will probably be like the Trackhawk GCs or the Redeye Hellcats that can be ordered if you are willing to pay the premium and Dealers will have them on their showroom floors to drive interest.

Possibly. As much as people want to believe that a V8 JL/JT is what everyone wants, it really isn’t. I still think everyone will be let down by the end of the week. I mean if there was an actual intent by Jeep to produce it, don’t you think we’d see something leaked? All they did was repost the EJS teaser lol.

For sure. I’ve been waiting for this to wrap up and get the low down. Since it’s looking more and more like our Baja trip isn’t going to work out this year, I might have to drive to Nevada for a closer look!

That is the exact setup I want to install in mine.
