2016 Wayalife End of Summer WINDROCK Run - Official Event Thread

That is correct. Chase is 14. We purchased a 2000 TJ over the winter for him and built it up so he would not have to drive mine anymore. He is working to pay it off. He was born on a dirt bike so the clutch and offroading comes easy to him. We have been to several offroad parks in our area and he runs his rig through all kinds of terrain and hills. He is actually much better than most of the intermediate adults we have wheeled with. My wife wants to be a passenger and not a driver offroad. Just wanted to make sure he can wheel there before making the trip.

I don't honestly know the answer to whether or not he would have any issues driving out there. I will reach out to them this week to double check before I give you an answer.

So I bent both my rear shocks this weekend working on my jeep... Looks like an unneeded expense before the ride

Ouch. How'd that happen while working on it?

Negligence and not thinking about what I was doing on my part to begin with. First mistake i made was not using jack stands which I normally am a big stickler about. I was getting ready to install my evo rockstar skids. Had the rear end jacked up, disconnected the lower shocks, sway bar links, removed one lower control arm, went around to the other and got the other lower control arm undone. As soon as I pulled the bolt the axle rotated forward shot the jack backwards and dropped the rear end on the ground. Shocks got shoved underneath the axle and bent them. It also messed up part of my rear drive shaft that I have to go see about tomorrow. The ring on the stubby side of the shaft got dented and won't accept the long part of the drive shaft now. I felt like a complete idiot when it happened. Now I'm just thankful I wasn't underneath it

Damn it man! Glad you're ok. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

That's how I see it Grubbicon. All of the offroad parks here are fine with it as well. If they put an age restriction on Jeep drivers then it seems they would need to have restrictions on ATVs and such as well. Just though I better ask. I will have him sign up as a member of Wayalife and wait to hear back from you, Thardy! Thanks a lot for the help! BTW - His Jeep is the Wolverine.

Wow that sucks. Something not set right on the bump stops? Or limiting straps maybe?

EDIT: For some reason I didn't see the rest of the thread when I replied.

Glass half full Gravedigger, parts can be replaced but lives and body parts can't. Maybe play the lottery and see if luck is still on your side and then you have the money to fix things.

Thankful you weren't underneath it when she kicked out!

On another note, regretfully I have to pull my name from this trip, that four letter word (work) has messed up a great weekend. What was suppose to be a free weekend has now become an all hands work week. So if anyone is in GA and wants get out I'm game.

Sounds like a good time to use a sick day or 2

Getting my replacement shocks ordered this morning. I'll head by the power train shop this afternoon and let them take a look at my driveshaft for me. Thinking about throwing in a Evap skid with my shocks. Since my jeep will be parked in my garage for two weeks I'll get to finish up everything and give it a once over before the trip

I would get the evap skid for sure. It's just asking to get smashed

Sorry to hear that, but fully understand. There will be other runs for sure.

Advanced group please. How did I not see this event before now?

I'll get you down. How many people will be riding with you?
